The constant use of the non-sequitur "SotSE" was kind of annoying, but a funny review nonetheless.
I agree, but it's a very accurate review that gets the point across.

Considering the guy's history by nailing the two last games to the wall due to the crap, it's nice to see some praise from him. He does complain about the pacing but rather positive throughout the rest of the review. Language is NSFW.
But the guy is dead on for the most part. What if when sins released we were waiting for 1.03 for it just to be playable out of the box? That is the level the PC gaming industry is at right now.....just push a product out the door asap and hope it gains profit, regardless of how well it plays.
I guarantee you Stardock would be worried about their reputation. At least they know how to run things.
2) MMOs - it's stupid to ask to stop making a certain type of game. The fact that you don't enjoy these games, or even that they're all crappy, doesn't mean they shouldn't be made at all. Just means they should be made better. I don't want to play WoW clones but I do want someone to come up with an MMO that's going to be fresh and interesting, with a solid story that rivals traditional RPGs.
There needs to be a happy medium. If every game looked like WoW, which, to be honest, looks like it fell out of 2002, well, it would get boring quick.
They are many games worse looking than WOW. Look at the casual game market with very simplistic graphics. I guarantee you that the number of sales from casual games will make several big name publishers jealous.

http://gamingeh.com/want-my-ass-off-the-360-listen/ Need to warn you the site is a bit NSFW. A rather blunt Canadian gamer gives suggestions how to get people like him away from consoles and back to PCs. He makes strong points and even brings up Sins as an example of doing things properly. He even talks about the piracy and performance issues in today's PC games, something I'm sure Stardock even agrees about. <b

"It's unfortunate that half the amateur/peer reviews on the net are crying foul and exclaiming that the AI cheats massively. Perhaps it would be useful to make the no-cheat point clearer in advertisements so this doesn't become part of the image of GalCiv. The infinite range AI colony ship fix in the next patch should help things too. I'm pretty sure AIs popping up colonies half way across the galaxy was the most cited cheat." Or maybe game designers should be a little more straight-fow

AI doesn't cheat my ass. I was just playing a normal difficulty game right now and the Drengin Empire is currently at war with me. For some reason, the AI decides to bring a battle axe to kill my troops. 150 HP and ATK 7 and DEF 6..something isn't right. Alright, so I decided to buy a battle crusier to finish the job. If I get the first attack, I should be able to kill the bastard. Ahem, nope. Next turn, the Battle Axe's stats are suddently up to 160 HP, AT

I just got this last week and already got used to the awesome interface and how the game works. My problem is, when I play against the Normal intelligent AI, the game simply cheats badly. Wait, let me repharse that. The Drengin Empire cheats. I played around 6 normal games so far and every single time the Drengin Empire is the most dominating race in the entire game. They get technology faster, their population higher then anyone else, and they seem to mass-produce f
