[quote]Wiley is playing painful and it sounds like you have transports but not battle transports right? Vincible, does he then send transports to visit the Torians and something to handle the garrison ships? Will the Torians leave their planets undefended or does he risk a battleaxe (or only defenders?) Wiley only has corvettes now - does he need frigates or will the USS Hero work? This "create wars and launch a surprise alpha attack on the warring planets" is new to me but sounds interesting. P

Research a couple techs that none of the AIs have and use them to bribe all the other AIs to go to war with the Torians. They may not be close enough yet, but the Torians will send their fleets to attack the other enemies.
Wow, that story was really well done.
It destroys the building, and if you want it back you need to rebuild it.
Yes, get the download. There's absolutely nothing in the box worth waiting for.
Yo Soldier, send me a save game. There might be something relatively simple that you're doing wrong that I could tell you how to fix. There are a lot of little sliders and things and if one of them is in the wrong position it could really mess up your game. [email protected] Oh, and if you do send it, tell me in this thread. I very very rarely check that account unless someone tells me they've sent something to it. [Message Edited]
That's absolutely absurd.
Congrats to Ray for hitting 200K, and to H5O for taking my first place on the Average Score board. I'm buying a new modem tonight, then I can give you all some competition.
Yo Ray, with your Pure Evil games, what alignments do you have the AIs set to?
Don't get discouraged when your twenty techs behind, or when the AI is sending Dreadnaughts against your frigates. Keep a cool head and you'll be surprised at how well you can extract yourself from these messes. [Message Edited]
I wouldn't pick speed in a tiny universe. Diplo is essential, and I almost always get the +60 pick, and often combine that with Populists for +80. Aside from that, it depends on your playing style. [Message Edited]
It would be kind of cool if, once you left the UP, you could then build trade goods that other races had beaten you to... after all, you're not following their laws, why should you respect their patents?
Not that I know of.
Supposedly this will not work in versions 1.09 and up, where you're limited to one colonization event per planet.
My preferred game would have each governor have its own set of sliders. The difficult thing is programming the AI to use it properly. If it's a choice between the current system, or a more flexible system combined with an incompetent AI, then I'd say stick with the current system.
The essential thing is a high diplomacy. Diplomacy makes your bribes more effective in improving relations. The other essential thing is to bribe all the AIs into war with each other. Since they're fighting each other, they can't trade with each other, which means all their trade goes to you, which makes you exceedingly rich and also means that they all become your friends because they depend on you for income. It's really overpowered imo. Late game, if you do it right, you never have t
The electrical graphic indicates that your ship does not have full hit points, ie that they are damaged. You probably got a tech or trade good that increases your ships' maximum hit points. Such items do not increase your ships current hit points to the maximum capacity, so your ships display as being damaged since they don't have all the hit points they could have. The graphic will display until the ship repairs its way up to full health.
I read somewhere on this board that it lowers the alignment requirement for the good/evil techs, so that, say, a chaotic evil race would be able to get a pure evil tech. I've never tested this, but if you're willing to do a bit of modding it should be easy to figure this out. [Message Edited]
Okay, count me in. I'd like a mage but I'm willing to be flexible for the sake of party balance. I played some 2nd edition but never 3rd.
Yes, the "average score" board is even more meaningless than the main board.
Whenever I read that scoring description I wonder if Frogboy actually plays his own game anymore.
Same here, "vincible" has been my name for all things online for years. Not very good for the Fellowship thread though.
Interesting. My favorite way of looking at the Metaverse is this one http://www.galciv.com/metaverse/?searchtext=&TopPlayersList=Average&GalaxySize=0&submit2=GO but maybe I'm biased. ;) [Message Edited]
My comp is back up! :) I banged out a couple quick games this morning. Maso tiny/rare for warmup, then a maso medium. Went pure evil for once, and confirmed that I still hate the evil interface. Too bad my modem isn't working :(
