What exactly are the bonuses that the AI receives on Incredible? I just started playing maso and I want to know what I'm up against. There's a big econ/production bonus, but what specifically is it? And there's a big PQ bonus, but how big? And the AIs are obviously a pain in the butt when it comes to trading. Is there anything else? [Message Edited]

Ack, you're right, I'm wrong. I probably got that impression because you can adjust the "months" slider past 50 by typing in a number. And also because everyone else said it :p But really I should check these things before mouthing off on the forum :(

Someone should write up a FAQ and get it stickied. "The AI has greater population than me, is it cheating?" "It's impossible for the Dregnin to have that much money! They must be cheating!" "The Caronids couldn't possibly have researched and built a trade good that early in the game!" et cetera ad nauseum. All have simple answers but they get asked over and over again. And if the board was no longer flooded by newbies complaining about cheats, it might make our otherwise wonderful dev

I've been irritated by this for ages. Is there a way to see how much income I am getting from trade with another civilization? I can see the value of my own routes to them, but I can't figure out how to see the value of their routes to me. If this feature doesn't exist, it should.

If you own the planet, you can find it quickly. Click your "planets" list open--on the bottom of the screen, next to the domestic policy menu IIRC--and you can scan through your worlds quickly. If it's PQ 35 then it should be bright purple. Also, you can sort by PQ so any class 35 world should just pop to the top of the list. If you don't see it, then obviously some alien got it. Once I got that event on Sol, on a tiny/rare map with only eight yellow stars in the whole galaxy.

Twirlip: I guess I could probably have gone longer than 50 months. I didn't check. The obvious solution is just to make the Draginol never make deals--this would be more in keeping with their supposed role as a dominating evil force from the past bent on the extinction of all other powers. Not sure how hard this would be to code though--I could see it being a real pain depending on how the code is written. Personally I don't care, it's obviously cheese but fortunately we users can exe

Um. I just realized that the devs might not appreciate us users posting exploits for everyone to read and abuse, since this could affect Metaverse submissions or whatever. Sorry! I'd edit my post but the fifteen minute limit is long gone =(

The Draginol start with something like 140,000 BC, you know exactly where they will appear (if the evil appears on your system), and they seem to only start with about 3 dreadnaughts. So they're incredibly rich and they're easy prey if you're high up the tech tree. So when they appear, you should disband the system? Heck no! Today, when I got the message that the great evil was growing on Sander IV, I brought a bunch of dreadnaughts next to that system and lay in wait. When the Draginol

You're obviously doing something wrong. I usually am among the galactic leaders in population, and I've been playing genius. (Incredible scares me...) Try setting your tax rate to 39% at the beginning of the game and never touch it again. That may help. I find that a good rule of thumb for newbies--once you have some experience and know what works well then you can play around with the tax slider. I think that's the rate at which the computer taxes. Also, at the beginning of the game pu

Frogboy might want to put that up as a news item on the main page. I've been checking the site regularly and had no idea that the demo was finally out. Frogboy, is it safe to assume that if the demo works on my computer, the rest of the game will too?

I would like to add my voice to those asking for a demo. This looks like exactly the sort of game I would love. However, I'm uncertain whether it will work on my computer, which is over five years old now. So I'm not handing over any money unless I get to test the game out. Until then, I replay Civ 3 and keep my money. :notsure:
