I think people 'complain' when a new version comes out to help developers with bugs. This is one of the few sites I know where developers will, on the spot, address a bug issue and give you a work around while they fix it for the next patch. In response (because of this outstanding service) we (customers) beleive it is our duty to report these bugs as soon as they appear so that develpment can address them asap and fix them for the next patch. Reply to 1.04 Year 2184 repeats *bug* in Galactic Civilizations I Stardock Forums

Hey Senator, thanks for the reply, there's another problem. I thought I saved the game by overwriting another saved game (ver 1.03) and the save didn't work. 1.04 seems to only be able to save 'newly' created saves or saves from 1.04, but cannot overwrite old files. I should have known better and saved on a completely new file. If you still want the save (which is on a new save, but well beyond 2184), then I'll send it to you tonight. Also, autosave and previous auto save wont load prop

Poll question regarding AI intelligence in Galactic Civilizations I Stardock Forums

Question is: "In general I find GalCiv's computer players to be.. " 1.) Too easy to beat at all levels. 2.) Very challenging, feels about right. 3.) Too hard. Couldn't choose between the three. Here is why. AI players aren't difficult to defeat at easier levels, but I'm not sure if 'hard' or 'easy' are correct words to describe the AI players. I feel that even at Masochistic levels, the AI make silly mistakes, example...my Corvette defense(see topic). To k

Corvette defense force in Galactic Civilizations I Stardock Forums

Playing Maso level on gigantic, Everybody is at war with me, I'm behind on techno, military, industry, etc, etc...so nobody likes me... Well everybody has Rangers and Dreads, but they cant penetrate my defense of corvettes...its great! I keep a pile of 40+ corvettes stacked and on 'guard' just outside my borders all alien ships attack it, but cant get through. If the AI is cheating on intelligent, then call me the Dhali lama. Finished my first game on all intelligent...cleaned house. Anyway, having a hardtime on masochistic now...AI definitely cheats.
