Awesome, really excited about trying this game out on Linux!

Thanks AOTS team! This game has really been a technological marval on many fronts...that's what attracted me to buying it when it was still in Beta. I'm most looking forward to seeing Vulkan/Linux support in the near future.
FWIW I ran the benchmark a few months back to show the core/thread usage in DX12 on my dual socket 12C/24T system. (Dual X5690s) As you can see the game definitely uses both CPUs and at least on my setup appears to be using about 18 of my 24 available threads during the benchmark.
Any idea when the DX12 stuttering will be fixed on AMD cards? Been an issue for me for the last month or two. DX11 works fine but DX12 has a stuttering effect. My 390X was butter smooth in this game before then. I've tried the latest drivers as well as the last few before them.
New drivers were released yesterday. Update to those and report back.
I'm actually using an AMD 390X and still get the stuttering in DX12. It used to not be there but after an update with the game or drivers it has been persistent for the past few weeks.
Yup I have the same issue as well. There have been a few posts about this. Hopefully there is a patch soon.
Same problem here. This has been an issue for as long as I've had this game.
So even with the latest "Gold Release" update it is still doing this. But it appears to ONLY do this in DX12 mode. Any help?
Seems similar to what i'm experiencing with my single 390X. https://forums.ashesofthesingularity.com/476275/page/1/#3626767
Hmm. This is interesting. I wonder if amd's new dives broke something. try this: go to settings and lower the terrain shading from high to mid and run the bm again.
Ok, I lowered the terrain shading sample from high to mid and it seemed to reduce stutter by a solid 90%! Only times it really stutters now is when the camera is at its highest altitude and there is a lot of units/action going on
Here is my DXDIAG: Also I have used DDU several times in safe mode updating to the latest drivers and it makes no difference. Again this only happens in AOTS, my other games all run just fine. Any other suggestions? Thanks!
Hawaii does well.
I set the affinity in Windows to only use CPU node 0 and it did not seem to have any effect and the game still stutters. The dual CPUs were never an issue in the past with this game either as i've had it running since November and only the last couple weeks did the stutter start. The only thing that seems to have made a difference so far was verifying the integrity within steam which reduced stutters about 50%. I've uninstalled and reinstalled tonight and it still stutters.
Ok i've never verified the integrity of the game on steam before but I just tried it and the first time it failed and the second time it completed successfully. Ran the benchmark again and stutters were reduced by a solid 50+%. Still stutters but significantly improved just from verifying the integrity in steam. Whats going on? Thanks for your help!
This was never an issue a few weeks ago even on much higher settings.
Does it in game as well but not as bad since the benchmark pushes things much harder.
https://youtu.be/GpNnjpMQWlI Started this stuttering effect after the last few updates. Up until about 2 weeks ago it never had this problem and would play smooth on the same settings. If you look at the end results I am still getting 35+- FPS overall in the benchmark, but it doesn't look that way at all. I'm on the latest drivers, latest update, stock Sapphire 390X, dual X5690s. Help!
AMD 390/390X plays it great.
Downloaded the 16.3 Hot Fix today and it seems to have made my game choppy now. When I run the benchmark there is an obvious stutter that was not there before. Can anyone who has downloaded the new drivers confirm if they also have this issue? I am using an R9 390X.
Just ran the benchmark on Crazy Settings 1080P with my R9 390X DirectX 12 and it ran GREAT!. Getting over 40FPS with EVERYTHING on max and my card is not even overclocked. My CPU setup is dual X5690s at stock clocks. Great work devs! Game is really shaping up.
I run 4K on my desktop but want to play the game at 1080P for better performance. The latest update forces the game to run in a small windowed box in 1080P, both "Full Screen" and "Borderless Window" mode force my native resolution of 4K. Before the update I could manually pick my resolution in the game without running in window mode. Please fix this.
Does the NVidia 6 series even support DX12?
Weird. Just ran the benchmark again but this time realized I had the resolution set at 1920X1200 when I normally run the game at 1920X1080. Scaling it back to 1920X1080 fixed the stutter issue and removed 90% of the texture/shadow popping problem. Weird thing is that this time my FPS was only 39FPS at the lower resolution without the stuttering.
Just downloaded the 1.1GB update. Ran the benchmark once and saw a huge increase in performance (37FPS vs 55FPS). BUT the shadow textures are popping in and out during the benchmark and the frames seem to have a "stutter" effect every 2 seconds. Benchmark did not crash like on the previous update though...
