I find that often happening when I increase production or research capacity a great deal. Does this happen after you produce improvements for this?
KEmperor
It depends on what minor it is often. The Alexians will eventually flip, while the Carinoids almost never flip. The Carinoids make good trade partners if you can keep the other majors from conquering them.
It's a common problem, I'm sure they'll fix it in the next update. For now, if you want to submit, I recommend you switch back to regular Galciv. It's a beta version, it's not supposed to work perfectly, discovering and fixing bugs is what beta testing is for.
Good choice, the Guardians are a fine empire. I'm sure you will be welcome there.
Maybe the severity of the event is affected by the difficulty level ...
Yes, maybe thats it. Just another penalty for playing the masoverse.
What makes you think high morale helps?
In my experience it does. Whenever I get the fundimentalist event, its the planets with low morale that flip. By keeping my morale up I usually limit it to only 1 or 2 flips as opposed to half my empire if it happens at a bad time.
Thinking of jumping again?
Then not only is he not posting in english, but he's also off-topic?
Actually, the size of the Gigantic galaxy was EXPANDED in version 1.1
I agree that the third mission seems unduly hard. Especially for such an early one. Maybe if their ship was a Ranger or something instead?
Stop your spamming, stop your opposing people's opinions then saying it's the other persons fault for taking you seriously and procede to tell them to get a life, which you have no idea what there life is really like. Discussion is essential but what you do is just for attention be it for good or bad.
Just ignore him, that's what most of us do.
What's a good strategy for playing an evil race and still being able to get Terror Stars?
What do you mean? Terror Star is avalible to evil races.
Those are medals based on the games you have submitted to the metaverse. Things like the empire you belong to, games played, difficulty, score, etc. For a full listing, go to the metaverse and click on the Legend tab. You can also roll your mouse over the icons for a description. [Message Edited]
70 may cause your screen to change to"good" (i.e. blue on white selection buttons) but I think you need to be REALLY good to get some of the techs associated with morality. Most notably "hypertrade", I have had an alignment of 76 and I could not get the hypertrade tech until I was much more saintly.
The same holds true with the heavily evil techs. Sometimes I'll be near the end of the tech tree, when all of a sudden I can research techs like Advanced Slavery and Master R
They are certainly random events, I've played quite a few games where they never showed up.
150000 attack, and 4000000 defense.
That's not a bug, its a feature. :)
KEmperor, that's a DirectX 9 problem, from what has been reported on the forum. Try reinstalling DirectX 9 and then try the map editor again.
Thanks, that did the trick. I think the problem was that I had DirectX 8 installed.
Ok, I tried to open the map editor, and I get an error message saying that, "d3d9.dll" was not found, so it couldn't load.
You're just begging for someone to make a bad joke about how bran is a flake.
And a very good thought, too. VERY interesting application. Liek, for instance, using it to send your mini freighters safely to their destination(s).
The expense of activating the stargate would negate the profit you would get from the trade.
I've seen it happen to every major race pretty much, although not that often with myself. My personal impression is that it used to happen more often in the older versions.
Ok, two points: A) The Fundies have always been in the game and are often some of my worst enemies. However, if you keep your morale up most of your planets won't flip. B) This event can be used to your advantage if the other evil civs are too powerful.
Quick question: What are the default alignments supposed to be for the two new races?
I just beat the second mission of the campaign, and i exited to the main menu after the third one had just loaded up. When I went back to continue, it did not recognize that I had beaten mission 2 and i started back up on an autosave about 10 turns before I had won. I would send in a saved game, but I don't seem to be able to save either. [Message Edited]
Everyone is having this problem, it looks like a systemwide error. I'm sure they'll have it fixed soon enough.
