This is somewhat off thread (no Pern (err Pun) intended, but why would anyone want to stay in Roanoke?
Agreed, all it is is the halfway point for I-81 in Virginia.

No, thats just it. There was no victory text, no advancement to the next mission. Nothing. The game just continued like I hadn't won yet.
I don't know if this is a bug exactly, but I just played the first mission in the beta, and I defeated the Korx, but nothing happened. I assumed there supposed to be a victory screen or something.
If you plan to submit tech victory or cultural victories, you can't join the Diplomats since we must submit only mitary or alliance victories.
That sounds ironic to me.
How is influence related to cultural resistence and loyalty?
If i understand correctly, I guess you could think of them as an attack and defense rating. Your influence is sort of your "cultural attack" rating, while your resistence/loyalty rating is how well you can defend against a cultural attack.
Multimedia Center, Harmony Generator
These will also cost money. Make sure you need them.
I just played that new campaign on the beta. I had this weird thing where Battleships were not being allowed to enter any sectors where I did not have a colony. Frigates and Combat Transports were able to though. [Message Edited]
Are you playing as the Pacifist party? If not, all you have to do is retake the senate by raising your morale for the next election. If you are the Pacifists, I would take AmulekBird's advice.
First off, never build an improvement that you don't need. For example, does your planet already have high morale? Don't build that costly morale improvement then. In the newest versions, starbases now have no upkeep costs. To compensate however, you have to pay upfront to build them.
They have taken a nice fun game, fixed bugs and exploits you didn't even know existed, and limited your ways to win. On the other hand, the uber-genius guys that are top 100 will tell you over and over how great you should feel about it.
I agree with you somewhat. I also find it amusing that you think you have to be an "uber-genius" to get into the top 100. But anyway, I have listened to a lot of people that have mastered this game complain that there are these so calle
I think the best way to limit the Starbase exploits would be allow Starbases to be built on the resources only.
Actually, I think the better solution would be to make the resource starbases free (private sector investment in a profitable enterprise) while others have a cost.
Manned missions are not needed until probes identify class M planets, or until we establish a moon base.
The current plan is to estabish a moon base first, then go to Mars.
I almost always play with the original alignments too. I just can't reconcile the idea of a good Yor or evil Torian.
Agreed, uptown parades are great along St. Charles near Fat Harry's.
When I first moved to NOLA, I worked at the Hilton. The first Mardi Gras I decided to work and let everyone else have off (nice boss, eh?). Anyway, I went to leave and go home in the afternoon, but couldn't find anyway to get there. I couldn't believe they would completely block off an entire section of the city. To make a long story short, I had to cross the river, turn around and get on the expressway in order to go the couple of miles to my house! After that, I never made the same mist
Mardi Gras is a pain. One time I was trying to get to work on S. Carrolton and it took me 20 minutes to figure out a way around the damn parade.
You are right, you should have three gold bars.
You are right, you should have three gold bars.
Its not a planet, its only half the size of Pluto. Technically, Pluto is really just a really big asteroid. And Persephone is the Queen of the Underworld, husband of Hades(Pluto).
Then it would be a her.
Do you have any warships near their borders? That might be what is setting them off.
It did have a cool cast and decent graphics though.
I don't know, I thought Red Alert 2 was one of the easiest games I have ever played. Any C&C where I can beat the entire single player campaign in one sitting is pretty pathetic.
It's the expansion, its in Beta right now.
