Yes it was cool to have other races in your government which had different skills. Could be an interesting advantage to being nice creating a federation where the Brains could do the science, and the muscle could do the fighting.

I agree there should be some involvement with these 'choices'. Bare minimum for gain involving a building tile in use to achieve the planet wide gain. Since many of the good choices involve losing a strategic gain, there should be some possible consequence to enslavement or other nastiness. Revolt of slaves. <span style="font-s
Remember the immortal words of Ron White. You can't fix stupid! The world is full of stupid people, all you can do is ignore them....and the price is fair to get all the DLCs included. Game plus 2 DLCs (minimum knowing Brad) = 90 dollars so.....
Having played all the GalCiv games (and other frogboy games), I wish you would make a simple change to your AI controls. Stop connecting the strength of the AI to the PERCENTAGE CHEATS. Have One slider decide how much help you or the AI gets with military, tech, monitary, ect. (the CHEAT/NIGHTMARE slider) Have ANOTHER SLIDER decide on the strength of the AI (how many of its algorithms will be used).
At release EWoM : D Civ5 : C FONV : A- End of 2010 EWoM : C Civ5 : B- FONV A Now: EWoM : B- Civ 5 : B+ (still some issues) FONV : A (played through, loved it. Will wait a year for many mods and play through again) Chris.
Quoting Fuzzy Logic, reply 600 That's what religious zealots do, they turn every topic into being about them and their religion. Science zealots do the same, I present this thread as evidence.
'Science zealot' is a bit of a contradiction. If we take 'zealot' to be 'a fanatic who does not tolerate opposing views', this tends to violate the primary tennets of science. You k
OK, the game has potential, but is still in a early-mid beta state. There are definite balance issues such as : 1) Avatars and Heroes do not compare to high end stacks at all (think MOM and how the avatar's were threats to the end.) 2) Tactical combat is pointless as no manuvering, defense or tactics are necessary (biggest glass cannons always win) 3) Quests and Magic are boring with little effect on world (especially end game). <

This game has potential...and many flaws. Big one for me is the current useless combat defense. Need to give reason for armor and edged weapons to be used. Currently, 'glass cannons' with no armor and uber maces wins the day. Sad. Need to make mages and technologies more unique to each element. Nothing wrong with 'borrowing' MOM idea with this. Need to fix the lack of information popups. I am slowly figuring things out, but these forums ha
Only your avatar and his descendants can learn spells. Pick one of your heros of appropriate sex and propose to them (it is a button in action menu) You will then have 4 children over time who will grow up able to cast spells. (Your mate is still active. If they die before any/all children are born, game over on the children. No second chance. Chris.
Greed is the operating principle....This is not a bad thing. The vast majority of people do things to better themselves. In a true socialist society, everybody is equal and gets the same share of the resources. Therefore, there is NO reason to work harder or smarter. No reason to try. Without reward what is the point? Sure there are some who want to do things just because it is right, but they will be in the minority. Don't get it? Well
Lets start with basic principles. Science is based on Facts. Facts are true until proven false, then they are forever false. This tells us that things which have been considered facts for a long time are likely to be true. Facts which have been 'proven' recently are less robust. Faith is based on truth. Truth has NOTHING to do with facts. Everyone has their own truth. In order for a religion to survive over time in needs to do two things.&nb
Title says it all. After updating my game to 1.03, all my save files no longer work. This is irritating, buy understandable. However, NONE of my downloaded or created maps work!! How do I fix this, and how do I know if a downloadable map WILL WORK? Chris.
How do I train capital ships? I have been unable to do so both before or after raising the training limit to 3. Chris.
So on what beta is the map editor being released?
Map maker would be wonderful (one that works) Also remove the 4x food. Basically useless since have to use the rest of the tiles for morale. chris.
The update also killed my huge game. After updating, I have a memory leak in 3 different save games. Ah well. As long as a NEW game doesn't do this. Chris.
You know, there have been NUMEROUS SciFi movies about pissed off AI. . . . . . . of course, they NEVER mentioned that this AI did NOT come from military science labs, but from GAMING LABS!!! Come to think of it. . . . DUH!! All for it, but lets keep this thing under control, attacking my quicken is going too far. Remember, we DO know where Brad lives.... Chris.
REALLY hoping a map editor/creator is in the expansion. Any clues? Chris.
Hell no is about right. Instead of MP, I want a map editor/maker. If you REALLY want to add a big feature, consider the tactical combat of MOO2. But it would be better to add more STARS features. Especially the world stats (temp, grav, atmos) and have different races need different combinations of stats with the ability of terriforming to a better combination. If not this complicated, at least do it like MOO2. Chris.
The stardock (other) is misleading. I expect most of these are like me in that I heard about Galciv2 while on the GalCiv(ONE) site. Basically you stated that there was a new web site called Galciv2 for the new game being created. I then lurked at this site since it was created. Chris.
Looks great, REALLY wish you would separate AI capability from economic bonus/handicap. MANY of us want to play against the best AI, but don't have the time/ability to beat it. Can't see any problems with doing this since it is already hard-coded in the game. (Just need to uncouple them when picking difficulty). If you are worried about the Metaverse ranking, only allow the uncoupling in sandbox mode. Chris.
Will the AI be able to deal with increasing the ship size or logistics (ship number)? I want to setup a doubling table where ship sizes are twice the size of the lower size (yes, that puts huge at 250). I also want to increase logistics to create true fleet battles (yes, my computer has some power). BUT..... Will the AI be able to make competitive ships at the larger sizes??? Will it use the larger fleets??? OR, am I handicapping the AI??<br/
I want to change logistics to create larger fleets, can the AI adjust to this to keep fighting a good game? I want to make each ship class twice the size of previous classes ( yes this will make very large class about 250). Will the AI be able to make a good ship with the increased size? I want to change these things because I think it will improve the game, but will this make the AI too vulnerable? Chris.
Actually it is back to #2 Chris.
