If you are playing as a pacifist then it is in you best interested to sue for peace. That means bribe your way to peace. Offer cash, tech, ships, planets, as soon as you get peace send trade ships to that AI. Trading will help enforce the peace. Another way may be to bribe other AI to war with the ones at war with you. Another way may be to sue for peace with one of the attacking AI and have it go to war with the other attacking AI. If you do not want to sue for p
If I should join an empire, why? (and why yours? :) )
Some of the reasons you might want to join an empire ... You like to participate in a bit of banter back and forth You like the feeling of belonging to a team Many teams have a theme ... Most teams offer a friendly rivalry to the other teams. Many teams compete for position in the metaverse and thats why they would like to have a new player join them. Which shou
I do not think that Stardock will fix the metaverse recalc problem because they are very busy on the new game GC2. I personally don't think that they need to fix it at this time either. I do not want them to take time away from the GC2 development.
PS: you could always start another player like Sooooo many have done.. but i call that cheating tooo.. I still only have 1 player on here.. unlike atleast 4 others i know of... who have 2-3 maybe even more
I was going to start another player but I felt that it was not right. I do not think I would call it cheating though. If Stardock allows it then it is not cheating. What made it not right for me though is the metaverse doesn't do a recalc on every one that st
I have mastered Maso, several times, but I much prefer the 'Normal' level. You have the freedom to try all the Governments and abilities.
The Marquesa De Sade and others mirror my own view as well. There are many published strategies in the Strategies forum by myself and others that show how to beat MASO. Over time I worked up to MASO and I find that the most fun I had playing the game was setting the AI to normal. When you do this you can more easily experim
About a month ago I considered playing and submitting games again. But, I would have had really work at my submissions to get my score back over 1 million. It is not worth it. I will wait until GC2 and hope that the metaverse is more consistant then.
did you verify that the AI looses the advantage in the same turn and that you get it in the same turn?
I have never verified it but I have often wondered. If the AI doesn't loose the advantage in the same turn that is still ok. There is a benifit to destroying / taking over the military resource.
When I am about to attack an AI I check to see if he has any military resources mined. Before I attack his ships I destroy the mined military resource. You want every advantage you can get when attacking an AI. If I am well prepared I will take it over and mine it myself in the same turn to get those benefits.
My question is this... What will Planet B spend next turn?will it be 100?
Planet B will spend 50% of your 100 BC. Planet A will spend 50% of your 100 BC even though it is building nothing. This has long been a complaint about this game. Hopefully this issue will be resolved in GC2.
Good points from both PP and W2000. One key thing to remember and I am repeating it from both posters is becareful what social improvements you are building. Anything that has a maintenance cost over 3 needs to be considered carefully. The only things that I would normally build that has a maintenance cost over 3 would be moralle boosters but only if the morale was heading south. You have to try to keep the populations morale over 55 otherwise you start to lose your tax ba
Newfyscotian here representing the Foundation and waiting for GC2.
Thanks Chipperoo :)
One thing that can help is to turn on the sectors button. This will color the sectors that are owned. Your sectors will be blue, dregin red and arcean yellow and so on. This button is located just below the map. Another thing is to zoom in the map, at the top of the map there is a + and - button that will zoom in/out the map. I like to turn on the show production button because that will highlight all known planets in the color of ownership. If you continue to have
Just an observation. The links in the affiliates area on the left of the screen are not taking you to the correct spots.
hi Icho, is there still a contract on you?
There are many similarities between Moo2 and Galciv. I think that you will find that galciv has a much better political and economic features. There are more victory conditions in Galciv than Moo. You can only play humans but you get to pick your bonuses similar to creating a race in Moo2. Research is slightly different but not in a bad way. Espionage / spying is better in Moo2 in my opinion as well as destabilization. Ship building in moo2 is better and
We had a cat that used to like going into the garbage can inside the house. We loaded a water pistol and at first it worked but then the cat realized it didn't hurt. Then we loaded the water pistol with some hot sauce mixed in water (very diluted, I luved my cats). Guess what, that worked. It started associating the hot sauce with garbage and left the garbage alone.
If this is in the wrong place, or I should set up a site or something for this, please tell me.
I think that this forum is the right place for your topic. If you would like I do not mind play testing your campaign. I am sure that there are several other people willing to give you advice.
The scenario with the Torians (Mission 6) is puzzling me though. The victory condition is to "eliminate the Torians from the quadrants", but it is suggest to have a cultural domination.
I am pretty sure that I just went to war with them. It took a bit longer but I eventually invaded and beat them.
Try LinkHave fun!Alex
Thats funny, I have a hard time with my starships being named after kittens. All the other AI would laugh at you when snookums fires a hairball at the dregen.
during my game I got up to frigates fast and sent in 5 frigates with 5 or 6 transports. Ignored the battleships and took the planet.
CariElf, I do not mean to be a pain. Is this problem going to be fixed? I just looks like the Gigantic metaverse function not even running anymore.
Very true, none weirder than Weyrleader though LOL Congrats on your first battle Flymetothemoon. I like that name.
I must have been having a bad day. :( I swear that is what I saw. Looking back I know that I just missed Aldarians. Star Fleet has only 2 active players. My cut off was 3.
Based on the Alt-Metaverse information the most active empires are; The Foundation with 12 active Galatic Guardians with 9 active European Alliance with 6 active I.B.H. with 3 active The Jedi Republic with 3 active G.R.O.S.S. with 3 active Fellowship of the Ring with 3 active [Message Edited]
