Records are meant to be broken. Although it is doubtful that Techs records will be broken. I think that he is truly part Yor perhaps one of the older OS/2 Yor? :SURPRISED:
Nice to see you Fuels Chief. Welcome, If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask. ;)
Who is Carielf? The other boss?
CariElf is one of the programmers who also frequents these forums in a support role.
JTar, you should stop by the empires forum and chat with us. Perhaps you will join up with an empire?
A Question, do you recommend me getting the expansion now or waiting til i get good at the game before hand?
If you plan to get the AP pack you may as well get it now. The AP has a few new features that you might like such as campaign and scenerios a couple of extra races, some new ships. The scoring has been tweaked so that you get slightly more score than the standard version of galciv. If you are not sure about Galciv then perhaps you should stay with the v1.
2 million that is a magical milestone far away in the distance ... :notsure:
I note that he has a string of 60,000 point games - sometimes submitted apparently on the same day!
Technician is playing to a formula that allows him to finish a game in about 1 hour or less. Many of the top players have some sort of formula that they play. Some play a game in hour some take 2 hours or more. The strategy forum shows many tips and tricks and in some cases complete strategies for beating MASO. Chipperoo gave a good suggesti

Congratulations Qwerk! A major milestone to be sure. I should join you in a few weeks. ;)
If you've saved up enough money, you can build terror stars next to every major AI star system in the galaxy in one turn, and then blow up all their planets at once, winning the game.
That would be a lot of money! :SURPRISED:
Carielf, have you found out why the anomalies are disapearing when you do a reload of a saved game? Is there something to do with the anomolies that is not saved when a saved game happens? I see the anomolies disappear on almost every game I play. Usually happens after 3 - 4 years worth of play. My auto save is set to 5 years. I do save the game manually as well as autosaves. If I have determined that I have made a tactical mistake I will reload a previous save
CariElf, I have a saved game AP 1.51 that has the survey ship stopped doing surveys. There are still lots of anomolies around. Do you want it?
If you do use the cheat by turning it on at the start of the game also prevents your score from being accepted by the Metaverse
This is only partly true. If you use the cheat during the game for instance to see where all the planets are then reload your game with the cheat disabled you are ok. Do not save your game with the cheat enabled. Once you do that you have cheated as far as the game is concerened.
I had time to kill today so I reviewed the admiralty for the first 6 pages of the metaverse.
Now about that initiation fee...
[evil laugh]hehehehe [/evil laugh] LOL
John, you really need to contact Stardock directly. I would try . Carielf has a very good track record when responding to emails. I am sure that there must be a solution. It might require 2 different copies of the game though.
Congratulations Qwerk! Welcome to the club! :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT:
I have noticed this as well but never complained. Perhaps when an adjustment was made to the game that same adjustment was forgotten for the metaverse.
Really, does that work? I thought that Brad had put in code to try to prevent people from swinging from evil to good & vice versa.
You can do it on a very long game without the Saints & Sinners mod but the S&S mod makes it a lot easier. But you have to remember that the penalties are a lot worse when choosing to go good. Almost every game I start out evil and slowy move my way to good.
There are several techs that I do get later on that allow me to build morale and economic boosters. I was getting tired typing ;) Medium is a little trickier starting out but I found that it was easier once I had my pattern down. You really have to hustle to find the AI and start trading wtih them. That is the key to my strategy.
I always wondered what creativity did. Thanks for the explanation.
