Agree on all points but one paul. Medals for empire success is a good idea imo. Empires are about community and even the lowest member of an empire should feel included in the success of the empire as a whole.

Strykerstorm, you can perform the test on the same excalibur by saving the game before you start the test. See how much it heals in orbit, reload the game and test on the same ship outside of orbit.

Wow, is Vasueden our first actual troll? We should hold a celebration honoring him for this great thing he has done. A big bonfire, some dancing to the beat of drums with fireworks exploding overhead. It is not everyday someone does something so unique as troll on a bb. Special occasions need to be marked for rememberence. Perhaps we should ask the devs to give him a medal, his chest is sadly defecient in that regard, a matter we can not allow

I cant imagine that the AI's currently spy, after all what in gods name would they gain from the knowledge. Its not as if they could act on it. Now, seeing enemy ships, that might allow the AI's to gain something, how effectively they could use it, i dunno.

I actually meant for the espionage bonus to apply in times of war. Spying is a very serious and effective affair in times of war. Might be cool if it was civ based too, such as it is very easy to spy in the alterians cause they look just like us, but those damn yor, holy cow they are nearly impossible to spy on.

I would even go so far as to say that low should result seeing ships in orbit medium should result in seeing ships in their sectors high should rsult in seeing ships in neutral(all sectors not owned by either the AI or the player) and high should result in seeing ships in your own sectors. The cost for gaining such espionage level should perhaps be increased to compesent for the actual use that this would carry

Everyone is probably aware of it, but when your at war with an empire, ships do not show up in the trade screen dialog. I do believe it would be nice if the capacity to see enemy ships was related to espionage level, someone should mention this to them, specially ships orbiting planets, which you can always see currently.

If you have an excessive number of warships near the AI's systems, they will fall into war without any popup. Also, if your using older versions of galciv, autopathing can at time cause a fight that was unintentional, I suggest upgrading to version 1.05

Ditto Pontius, that can be really annoying As for star creation, how about creating nebulas on the map, from which with the apporiate tech, stars can be created. This limits the extent to which this can be done while allowing for it to be done. nebulas would cross multiple squares and have a minor slow down effect on ships. Only one star could be created from a nebula cloud and it could be created anywhere within that cloud. It could b

First - I have trouble believing this is true, can you be specific about which trade goods this is happening with. All the goods I trade for I have gotten. Second - This is not a bug, why would you even call it a bug, you might not like it, but its a serious misnomar to call it a bug. Its obviously intentional and you would probably be in quite the minority about wether it should stay or be changed. I for one would opt that it stay as is, as it is

a single game at 20,000 is worth 20,000 overall two games, one at 20,000 and one at 500 is worth 14496, signifigantly less then the 20,000 score by itself. The formula for this is the sum of the scores divided by the sqrt of the number of scores. In this case 20500/sqrt(2) or 205000/1.4142136 This is not really an issue so long as the range of scores stay fairly consistant, but with the extreme differences that exist between 1.05 and previo

There is logically no harm in creating a level that cheats so long as the non cheating levels are as robust and challanging as possible. Just dont play the cheating levels. I have never seen an Ai in a tbs 4x game that was remotely challanging without cheating. I dont even think I have ever seen an Ai that could come close to beating me in a tbs 4x game without cheating the very first time I played the game. I know its possible with the technology we

With good understanding of the game, its not that hard to beat crippling(2nd highest level) without any military action. Maso is a bitch in this regard(though not impossible on larger maps), but having one absurd level isnt unreasonable The scoring differation between difficulties is as you noted badly broken and I hold out little hope it will be fixed :( Also, the difference in score due to the victory path is unneccesarly punative for n

I do believe there has to be some other issues at work here. I will split this into crippling and masochistic obsevations. Gigantic crippling. It seems to take the AI about 15 years to get to dreadnoughts. In my first crippling games, 1 AI made 1 extortion demand, which I declined no wars where declared. In the 2nd several demands were made, all declined even though I had the economy to pay them easily, an Ai actually did declare war

Low tax rate? I can generally maintain an 80% morale with 50% tax rate on masochistic, on crippling I can maintain 95% morale for almost the entire game at 50% tax rate and 100% spending rate with 30% of my economy still in excessive of spending.

The rate of pop growth isnt of a universal quality. Having low quality worlds does not slow the pop growth on your better worlds, it only slows the growth on that planet. Hence having low quality worlds does not hurt in fact, even a poor worlds pop growth will help, just not as much. Your problem is that you probably build to many social projects that do not increase morale or pq. I almost always build habitat, soil and entertainment as my first
