Fsk, actually the problem is that AI's are global percentage bonuses while the cost of the starbases are static. Your point about the size of the galaxing being relevent is correct, but time is also a huge factor. At the start of the game when you have 1000 point econ and an econ bonus resource with 20% bonus will result in an increase of 200. Later in the game when you have an econ of 100,000 the same bonus will increase your econ by 20,000 bu

Pop growth is determined primarly from morale. Morale is determined primarly from tax rate and morale bonuses. You want to keep your morale above 80% and approach 100% if you really want to super charge your pop growth. As for pop growth compared to AI's, as you get higher it will get more difficult to keep up. Pop growth is one of the AI's strong points, luckly it has many weaker points.

There are quite a few reload issues that would be easy to fix. UN council meetings should use a stored random seed so that you cant reload to get a different event. Same for colonization events. Id suggest doing it for combat too, but thats not as big an issue. Ive played 2 crippling games to see what its like and I have to say that cash trading is way to powerful for crippling and even painful. For most of the frigate to overlord

What is this buzzing sound but an insect of minor note flouting its own inadequicies in a vain attempt to cover up the stated same. A war, indeed, no such measure of stupidity has ever been proposed by one such as you, and that is saying much. As per the rules of the war, a declared war shall last two weeks upon the close of which, the empire with the highest total gain in new points shall aquire the supperior of the highest ranked overlord or

CM - You can live in what ever fantasy you want, but the fact remains that declaring war to avoid a cultural victory is the same as turning cultural victory off from the perspective of someone who is progressing in a primarily military fashion. What ever military inadequacies that someone progressing from a cultural attack possesses is not really relevant to your case. Though, if it matters to you, you can keep feeling morally superior by declaring

Yes they accumulate, though production bonuses are limited by the pq of the planet. After a certain point any additional bonus is severely limited. The biggest abuse so far is probably the speed bonus with 20 some starbases maxed out with +speed you can 'catapult' a ship pretty far. There may be a bug with cultural starbases with them being multipicitive rather then additive making multiple cultural starbases absurdly effective. If so, then thi

Your numbers are a bit off Maike, but of course that could be refined, thats not the problem. As long as your points go up for milking, regardless of how little they go up, milking is still rewarded. So long as milking is rewarded, it will occur. So long as it occurs, those that do it, will be at a higher rating then they deserve based on their skill. So long as that is true, the rating system is not reflecting just skill, but also the tenacity to

+pq, +morale buildings +production buildings on major planets that go with +production starbases. On a rush map I dont build any social buildings until after the initial rush. On larger maps, not until after the quite late into the intial expansion.

Anomolies actually do respawn at random intervals, though its rather slow and could probably be faster except that endless bonuses could become quite excessive. Rangers are actually a bit tougher then dreadnoughts with a much better line of sight and can be worthwhile to build a few so that your fleet isnt blind. Assuming you dont get eyes of the universe or some galactic event.

I guess I could explain this better. A races attitude towards you depends primarly on your alignment, their economic depedency on your trade and your military power. When the AI's are not that skilled compared to you, your military power will be signifigantly better and hence the AI's will play nice with you. On masochistic, its impossible for me to maintain military parity with the AI's for the entire game and hence they will frequently make ex

If your playing signifigantly below your difficulty level, then evil is far easier as the AI's are no threat anyway. Try playing pure evil on a large+ masochistic game with 3 or more good AI's and you will apperciate how much easier the game would have been if you played good. The balance between good and evil is one of the great things about this game, its very well done(at least at the higher difficulties) [Message Edited]

I am pretty sure the maso nerf is associated with the overall difficulty level and not the level of the individual AI's. As you only need 3 incrediable AI to play at maso, id think someone would have tried trading techs for cash with 2 genusius in a maso game by now. I havnt cause all my games have been 5 incrediable, but id think someone would have tried by now :) Anyway, the way frogboy stated those nerfs, it seemed to suggest it was across the bo

Several: You can build starbases anywhere, not just on resources. As you know, this would extend your range. To build a starbase without using a resource, choose the little icon near the constructor info button. Or open the constructor info button and select the option from there. Im sure there is a hotkey for it too, probably 'b', but im not sure. Also, it seems insanely unlikely you have researched all the +range techs as with them all you

Thats true don, it would break you to lease them, thats why when I do buy, I buy them outright :) Actually, thats not true, the 2nd lease option is pretty good and is often cheaper overall then buying outright. [Message Edited]

Actually, now that I think about it, I dont actually lose when the Ai builds battleships(on a tiny) I give up. This is another artifact of the metaverse scoring system and my addiction to such things. With battleships, I will no longer be able to quickly dominate all the AI's, and as a consquence they will get to build more then 4-5 wonders. Huh, I mean really with 60% or more of the systems in my control I could have probably still won eventually.
