Ray, I set the AI's to opposite aligns, but I dont actually do anything to encourage them to fight, they seem to do that on their own :) Though perhaps those games where they get battleships are the ones where they didnt happen to fight and I could have won if I had nudged them some :) And that previous 23k game strategy is abit outdated and to be fair I only went to final frontier, in my older game I stopped researching and went to 2225 or so growing my

The 21k game was a gigantic, the above wouldnt actually work on a gigantic :) The gigantic was basicily massive early expansion followed by paying bribes and more massive expansion. followed by more paying bribes and more expansion. After the expansion phase I owned about 35% of the galaxy and managed to cut via range most of my area off from the Ai's so I could build on all the resources in my area. I was pretty methodical about exploring with scouts an

5 incrediable AI's, 3 evil 2 good. I look for a start with a 20pq Earth and a couple of systems with a decent pq planets near by that is near the center of the map(less travel time for my transports) I sometimes do a 70 military/30 tech instead of buying the colony ships, both seem to work fine. After I get the start I want, I win about 50%, this being the easiest maso game. I lose when a major power manages to BUILD battleships. Merely

Seen a few comments on the board that suggest certain things that are not true. Im not saying that using hordes of starfighters to beat masochistic doesnt work(though I think someone is abusing a fleet stacking bug?) But it certaintly isnt the only way to win. I will state upfront what lame things I do do. I use ctrl-n alot. I will on occasion go back to a saved game, though not often. Tiny abundant map: +2 speed +20 soldiering populist. <b

Thats not even an accurate quote anymore :) In fact, by putting in the word 'still' its an outright misquote. I said I could 'beat' maso in my sleep back in 1.035 when you could still trade techs for massive cash and wonders were still very abusable. I never said I could 'still' beat maso easily, in fact I have said quite the opposite. And yes, maso has been so beefed up that another level between crippling and maso would make sense.

Im thinking of retiring early. I am very competitive and enjoy competing for the top of the scoring system, and while I have patiently tried to explain what would make a scoring system fun to compete within, they have persisted in rewarding behaviour that is beyond dull. I understand that from their perspective, the metaverse does not exist for players like me, those who actually try to compete, but rather for those that just want to see how er,

Time is not a factor in your score, at all. High score results from high population and tecnology. As you can see, even a fairly low difficulty can obtain through massive population the same score as a much more difficult game, but lower pop game. This is something I have been pointing out for weeks, and while it is better then it was before, the same problem still exists and I wouldnt hold my breath looking for it to be fixed. If you want

The two biggest difference between the two is that mine mathematically makes more sense(Ill concede this is irrelevent considering the amount of coding time they care to give to such minor issues) But the second one is more relevent and you have not addressed it. That my method has the player disappearing competely once they go inactive. Now I perfer to either retain my score fully, or to have it disappear competetly. I do not like the idea

Perhaps, if you think a single battleaxe is worth 3 races demanding 1200 tribute or else war and instant building a few wonders too boot. I just absorbed the loss, game is easier if you play it straight through, unless you really abuse save/reload.

Yes, this is probably a bug, im told that if you hit the button that called up that screen a second time it will refresh(f2 if you use hotkeys) I believe the devs have been made aware of it, wether or not they will patch it before the expansion, dunno.
