Cannot play saved game in Galactic Civilizations I Stardock Forums

I was on a business trip yesterday. So, I installed GC on my laptop for the day and started a game on the plane. Now I am back home and want to play the same game (saved it on the laptop and copied it over) on my home machine. Both machines have 1.05. I can restore the game with no problem. However, whenever I try to save the game on the home machine now (and I think autosave is having the same problem), it just closes entirely without saving and dumps me back out to windows. How do freighters work in 1.05? in Galactic Civilizations I Stardock Forums

If I build a freighter and give it to my friend, for trade route purposes, what is the origin point (my world that built the freighter, his main home world, something else)? If this gift freighter now counts as being from his main home world and is now parked next to my economic capital, will he be smart enough to immediately establish a trade route with me?

I downloaded 1.03, 1.04 and 1.05 and my computer started crashing everytime I closed GalCiv. So, I installed from the CD onto my laptop to do a bit of QA testing and then went to StarDock and downloaded all the updates. Fired it up on the laptop and the setup screen looks different (more streamlined and with less choices). [It also looks different from a display perspective but that is an entirely different matter. Thanks I did find the monstrous "spreadsheet" at ZiaH's site. However, although this document is technically a spreadhseet, it is really a picture (and a HUGE one) that has been drawn with Excel. How can I tell what version of the code is executing?? StarDock Central is telling me that I have downloaded and installed the most current version but the setup screen looks exactly the same as it was in 1.0. I think that I am somehow not executing the current version??

Technology spreadsheet in Galactic Civilizations I Stardock Forums

Has anybody created an old-fashioned table (spreadsheet) with the technology data?? There are some great online player aids but I need a tool that is usable offline and that fits on as few pages as possible while still using a font large enough to see with the naked eye.
