Well, since you asked, I posted an article about them a couple of weeks ago.... The last one is probably my favorite, and (as described) it got me the best costume compliment ever. Check it out here.

Yeah, the links can come and go occasionally. And I have never found a FAQ page. I would still like to know what the different little envelopes mean next to the articles in the Forum view. I hope that before the site goes "live" (i.e. accepts paid subscribers, in addition to its current free access) they will have some extra documentation available.

If you load up your own main page, at the bottom right of each of your posts there should be an "Edit" link and a "Delete" link. The numbers at the top are the article's stats, broken out by category: Page Views: - Home: How many times your main blog page was viewed, while this article was on it. - Selected: How many times this specific article was viewed (generally by clicking on it from the Forums or a sidebar link or in ord

I would think they should kick this guy out of the Navy for espousing beliefs that are contrary to the spirit of naval service. If you view Satanism as a philosophy, then it is more properly called "egoistic hedonism", which is to say that making oneself happy is the proper goal of all conduct. With the "nine satanic principles" thrown in, you pretty much completely contradict the ideals of loyalty, service, obedience, discipline, etc. that

Here are a couple more problems: We move now to an island that has not only Knights and Knaves, but also Normals. Normal people, as their name kind of implies, can tell a lie or tell the truth as the whim strikes them. 1) There are three people (A, B, C). One is a knave, one a knight, and one a normal (not necessarily in that order). They make the following statements: A: I am normal. B: That is true. C: I am not normal

Glad to hear you weren't waiting with "baited" breath! I did choose that phrase on purpose.... though I'm (just a tiny bit) disappointed that nobody in the other thread commented upon my own favorite phrase in that post, "annelid-flavored

Today (Saturday, regardless of what the post time on this article says) marks a major milestone in my baby's life so far: She's got a TOOTH! Okay, so it's only a tiny little white spot on her gum at the moment, but it's sharp as heck, lemme tell ya. And given that she's 10 months and 6 days old, we've been waiting for the appear

And, now that I finally have a little more time to post, you are correct with #1. There are two main possibilities: - A is a knight. Then he told the truth, and B and C are of the same type. - if B and C are both knaves, then A and B are of different types, so C, being a knave, will lie and say "Yes" to the question. - if B and C are both knights, then A and B of of the same type, so C, being a knight, will truthfully

Bush being the beneficiary is strictly because a major source of anti-Bush bias got a big black eye as a result of their willing gullibility and steadfast refusal to open their eyes to just how incredibly easily fooled they'd been. For me, the story went like this: Day 1: We have these incriminating documents about Bush's military service! public reaction: They're faked Day 2: No they're not! public reaction: Yes

Yeah, it definitely takes some getting used to. You have to break them in over a period of several wearings. At first you shouldn't wear them for more than about 90 minutes; you work your way up to as much as 4-6 hours eventually. Kind of an added benefit as far as creepiness goes is that eventually my eyes would start getting really bloodshot, so after a while I'd have solid black eyes with bloody red corners instead of white corners. <img src

This is sort of a Friday Twenty-Five, really.... Hm. 1/ Five extra males: My friend Perrin, Neil Gaiman, an astrophysicist, a geologist (both reasonably young and healthy), and MacGyver (or some equally resourceful person.) 2/ Five extra females: Perrin's wife Jenny, Neil's significant other, and three (reasonably young and healthy) field scientists. 3/ Five items of gear: Gigantic walk-in freezer, diode-based lighting (much lon

Well, I did cheat a little bit on the second line... And limericks are my preferred form, too. But "Texas Wahine" is eleven letters, so I'll still have to cheat somewhere to fit you into two limericks. Hmmm.... (compose compose compose) Well, the meter's not really where I'd like it to be, but here you go anyway: There's a lady called Texas Wahine, Everyone knows that she is no meanie. Xenophobic she's not,

Sadly, we've been very slack the last couple of years about throwing a real Halloween party anyway. I got the contacts through a place here in Minnesota called "Costumes for your Eyes." (see www.freakyeyes.com , their website.) At the time of purchase (1997, I think) they cost me about $300 (not counting the eye exam); looks like they're $350-$400ish now.

humble people are likable, but they also get walked over That's not humble, that's gullible or weak-willed. Not the same thing at all. You can be humble and still refuse to put up with any shit. Humility is more like the constant awareness (and acceptance) that there are countless other people who

And you can take heart in the fact that apparently he thinks you're worth the effort to keep asking out, even after you keep plying him with lame excuses. He wouldn't still be calling you and suggesting things if he weren't interested.

I think you mean "bureaucracy" there, LW. And you're one of the worst offenders when it comes to not using apostrophes (or capitalization), but at least you're consistent about it. It's actually much more annoying when people do it right some of the time; at least if they're consistent about things you can put it down to a personal style preference, or a broken keyboard. <img src=
