I figure this slowdown is like one of those "7th-minute stretches" that you get in ordinary conversation.... You know how, in a room full of people conversing, about every 7 minutes or so there will be a sudden quiet patch. This being an internet site, the arrival (and now departure) of that stretch have merely been somewhat delayed.

My fiancee and I have something in common. (Gasp, shock, amazement, you say. Okay, we have a lot in common, and here's one particular item.) We both hate to match socks. When that big load comes out of the dryer and there's 64 socks in the heap, in a heap is how the socks stay until everything else is done and we grudgingly turn to finish the odious task.

You could probably turn the argument around by saying that another one of God's properties is that he is undetectable, and therefore the fact that you didn't detect him anywhere proved that he was everywhere....

Actually, to prove that there is no God is not nearly as difficult as proving almost any other universal negative. Since one of God's properties is that he is omnipresent, all you have to do is find a single point where God does not exist. Then you have demonstrated that he is not omnipresent and therefore does not exist (at least not as defined).

I don't think you'd see a "hundreds to thousands" cost for legal prostitution. When I visited Amsterdam a number of years ago, I was informed that the average cost of sex there was between 50 and 100 guilders (which at the time converted to about $35 to $70). If the average transaction takes an hour to complete and costs $50 (and I'm assuming something like 20-30 minutes for the actual act, 15 minutes of clean-up/recovery, 15 minutes before the next

There were seven dwarves in the tub, all feeling happy. ...So he got out. Picture two dwarves standing in the forest, talking. One is fat and looks good-natured, the other is thin and nervous. The nervous one speaks: "Well, it's down to just the eight of us now... I'm telling you, Hungry, something funny is going on around here!" A guy goes to

I just don't understand why women will spend so much money on their nails. $50 to "pamper" an area of your body that is collectively smaller than a credit card and that has no nerve endings?? I've got a $0.79 clipper for trimming and the nails on my other hand for cleaning under the nails on the first hand, and I don't need anything else.

I would have to say I'm relatively lucky as migraine sufferers go. I've never bothered getting diagnosed but I do have the classic symptoms as described (half-head, a couple of common triggers, light sensitivity, desire to vomit, etc.) but I hardly ever feel like I'm incapacitated by them. Usually when I feel one coming on, if I do a couple of things I can mitigate it pretty effectively: 1, take pseudoephedrine; 2, work to relax the neck/shoulder ar

Just to beat that one into the ground a little further, why focus on the clerk? 3 guys paid a total of $27. The manager kept $25. That's 27+25 = $52. Where'd the extra $22 come from? Anyway, since I answered that one, here's another riddle.... I welcome the day with a show of light, I steathily came here in the night. I bathe the earthy stuff at dawn, But by the noon, alas! I'm gone.

I'd recommend 1 and 3. 3 because it's a relatively cheap way to amuse yourself for hours and hours, making it very cost-effective (and it's good to do SOMETHING for yourself with the money), and 1 because the longer you let the debt go the more it costs you. Of course if the hospital is charging you higher interest rates than the CC companies (which seems inherently unlikely, but is possible), then pay them first. Congratulations! I have of

I would have thought that he would have realized you weren't an LDS after your first or second reply. And I personally have nothing against being rude to people who attempt to "witness" to you as this guy was apparently angling for at the end.

You should post a second riddling article; the activity on old articles drops off tremendously once they aren't within one's last 5 articles or so, generally speaking. (Yes, I could post one myself, but you'll get a lot more traffic than me. ) p.s. you have divined an element of my character: I secretly enjoy being puzzling.

1/ Prostitution: I think it's a poor way for a woman to make money, and I would rather there were no need for it, so in that sense I disapprove. However I am with Greywar and the other libertarian-minded individuals that it should be legal, and regulated. If people are going to do it anyway (and they are) and it is not necessarily a harmful act, then criminalizing it is counterproductive. 2/ Drugs: I'm not interested in them myself, I like
