You could use rally points to mark the planets on the map.

Hi civilis, can you repeat it in English, please? Germans do speak English, you know ... ;)
1. Don't use high tax rates. Moral should be at 100% at the beginning. Otherwise you have clandestine workers and insufficient population growth. Illicit work and small population => no taxes. Constantly adjust your tax rate at the beginning to keep at least your best planet at 100 % 2. Use trade as a cash cow. 3. Watch your leases and maintanance costs. It's very expensive to buy something and to maintain a large fleet. Don't build all social projects, some are way to expens
I've never seen more than 35. But I did not use any mods yet ... Are these astonomic PQ values Metaverse compliant? Which mods do you recommend? Is there something like a mods pack or do I have to download them 1:1 from the Library? Tanks, Volker
Or are you forgetting that Maso AIs get a +2 range bonus?
Really? I didn't know that. Is somewhere a list of these maso AI advantages despite income and "more intelligent algorithms". [Message Edited]
Gave the Torians Basic Repair as a gift, they say Ah, more presents and Basic Repair stays in the list of Techs I can give to the Torians.
I had the same experience with other techs and other AI as well. It occurs when you give a present a second time in the same turn and the AI answers "Ah, more presents ..." ~SDC~
Hi CariElf, these links don't work for me. Did I miss anything? http://www.joeuser.com/sdfiles/data%201.12.zip http://www.joeuser.com/sdfiles/filelist.txt http://www.joeuser.com/sdfiles/gfxfilelist.txt Thank you always for doing a great job. I'm a software developer by myself and I appreciate your work very much. I know how hard it it to answer all these silly questions ;) Best regards, Volker
Hi ricbayer, don't underestimate morale. It brings either population grows or higher tax rates. Both directly leads to more income. On a high PQ planet I usually have higher morale values anyway and I build morale improvements later than on lower planets. But at the end I build them on all. I try to balance this since more than 100% is not possible and I can't increas tax rates to high since the lower PQ planets would suffer to much. Best regards, Volker
These are the problems I had (only the 1st is serious): 1. Research is not updated correctly when the economy sliders where moved. In my case they showed "Next month" but that was false. A reload of the game with the same settings showed 3 month and that was correct. This problem appears quite regular and I did not find any workaround besid save/reload. It's quite annoying and leads to wast of time/monney. 2. A minor bug: the lock on the economy sliders i

Hi, is it possible to get the library stuff in a package or must it be downloaded 1:1? Since the publisher will not offer any localized versions for the library stuff and up to now not even for the patches I suggest some "open source" project for the translation. I'm willing to help and translate stuff into German, but somehow it should be possible to let the community participate. Can Stardock offer a place where this could happen? Thanks Vo
#27 by Citizen dlapine - 10/6/2003 7:01:50 PM 1) How about ability to stop ship building or improvement construction on a given planet, and have the resources not allocated and wasted on said planet? Perhaps I want to concentrate my building on efficient planets?
I agree very much with this point. I don't like it that I'm forced to build all the time something on all planets which costs maintanace afterwards. And I would like to build my s
Hi there, GalCiv was mentioned in the current c't. c't is the computer magazine with the highest print run in Germany. It's a short article and overall quite positive. GalCiv got the best score for long lasting fun. In the opinion of the author GalCiv wins the direct comparison with the more established MOO3. Best regards, Volker
I patched my 1.05 German version with the standalone 1.10 patch. Fist I was happy since the copy protection was removed. I started a new game and the game crashed back to desktop when I push "Turn". I can restart the game and load the autosave game and every time I push "Turn" it crashes :sniff!:. I send all files form the autosave game and the error logs to Stardock but the answer ist that the German version was never tested by Stardock and that the patch happens to be incomp
Sounds absolutely great Rally points and Hyperlinks e.g. in the Dipomatic screen was exactly what I was missing :) I expect my German version to come in in the next weeks (I ordered already in April from AMAZON.DE). Currently I bridgeover with my OS/2 version and the demo. (The OS/2 demo was the reason why I buyed the game at that time!) Will there be an international version of the expansion, too? At least, can I install it and use it with my international
When a planet has no social and military project assigned it still wastes the money. Is it possible ot change this? It is a bit annoying to be forced to let every planet produce something. Thank you for your great game and your excellent support.
I would really like to have more information on the diplomatic screen. - information about what I'm currently researching and how much is left. I often trade for a tech I would get next month anyway ... - information about the offered things like systems, starbases etc. to estimate their value. Best thing would be to have a naviagtion to the usal star map. Information about the research costs of the techs would be very helpfull as well - I like the idea mentioned above about
Hi, I already ordered my German version of GalCiv. I doesn't ship before August but luckly I found the demo :) My question is: Will the patches and Library Objects work with the international versions? I would even offer to make some translation work e.g. for the library stuff. Is there any tool to do so? Best regards, Volker
