Um...hang on a sec...what exactly are you agreeing with me about? Not that I don't like being agreed with, mind you...being agreed with is generally very...agreeable. It's just that one would like to know what one is agreeing about...but you can certainly keep up the "oh great furry leader" stuff...I like that...man, do I need a holiday....

Matthew - I always find it hard to tell what exactly is being rewarded in the "society" score component - I cant seem to repeat results consistently. In that game I built/traded for morale and pop boost wonders, trade goods etc and had the largest population prior to alpha striking. I have developed the opinion that massive pop and SPEED of victory are the keys, so I orient research and TG/wonder building that way. I do agree 20k seems poor reward for a large map, though!

I just completed this technique on a small map, rare planets...oh boy. The easiest whoopass I ever handed out; just short of 30k for about 45 mins work. Unbelievable. Like ric, old habits die hard and I did build up some insurance in terms of influence wonders, trade routes etc but sheesh...this technique means you hardly have to turn up at the keyboard LOL . Hats off to ya, Maxti!
We are not threatened by the self-important blather of a puffed-up minor power.
Need I remind you it was one of YOUR warriors who started the blather, due to their apparent insecurity? Yes, the Fellowship has brought a soporifically dull, colourless quality to the top of the table; attractive to some but to others a tawdry and unimaginative exploitation of a string of recent popular travel films and an old book. Go ahead, collect your mindless Aragorn wannabees who are no

Oh yes...the Beagle is due to land a week before the Spirit, thus trumping the American effort. Then, the Beagle disappears...hmmm...I'm afraid this has the letters "C - I - A" written all over it. At this moment, the Beagle is a weather satellite positioned over Guatemala, stripped of its memories.... Sadly, the space program was derailed by the profit motive since the Moon landings...the shuttle kept it alive (because you can charge people to place their satellites in orbit) and I awa

1. Hiya Kit - the koala is visiting family and away from the PC; should be back in the next week or so. 2. Theoden - yep, we are all watching our gun performer in awe - you go girl! One million awaits!

God help me, I actually WAS sober and took the kids into the centre of Melbourne to see the fireworks (which were great). Ahh...my days of pretending to speak German and crusing with chicks who couldn't speak English are long gone (:( Hey - Happy New Year to y'all (blast that Ben - we're all picking up the accent)! :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT:

Well, if you're in a minority, at least let it be a vocal one! (As for off topic, you should see the Special Forces Party Bunker topic list ;) ). Seriously, vincible, I think these things moderate themselves - if no one is interested in the topic, it will die a natural death. Hang on...that sounds like a right wing "market forces rule" capitalist kind of sentiment... ;p LOL LOL LOL Really - I say talk it up; it adds flavour to the boards!
You could have told me that *before* my Christmas shopping!
LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL Fair enough - I'll have a crack at building up my No.2 planet and see what happens! Happy New Year - oh, and dont drink very much alcohol on New Year's Eve, OK? ;p ;)

Thanks Maxti - I now feel like saying a big "Doh!" Never been one for destroying everything either - doesnt it affect your end score? I had always thought one of the side benefits to flipping big, well developed planets is that they add to your "Society" score where scorched earth planets dont count for as much? Still, it's really interesting and I'll try it out - thanks mate!
