I'm not certain but I think its B. To be honest though in 1.5 years there won't be any new patches. They are almost done with the game now. One more major patch for the regular game, then perhaps a few patches for Altarian Phophecy and they will be done with GalCiv. ~SDC~
pardon my ignorance, but what is the "beta" version of AP? is this the actual Ap that is for sale on stardock or is this like a test version that you buy, and then when actual exspansion comes out this month, you can just download that onto the file you already have from the beta?
A beta of a program is a test version usually not available to everyone, though at this point if you buy it is. As for the second question, yes I would assume so, though you probably want to fi

He might not know english, and since there don't appear to be forums for the other languages you should be able to post in whatever language you want. They just should realise it will probably take longer to get an answer if they don't post in english. ~SDC~
just a month or 2 ago you had to go back to at least page 2 to find 1 day old topics, now its a few posts before the day old stuff comes up. Wheres everyone gone? Feels like a ghost town out here...
I think most people have decided to do most of their posting on the empire forum now, which I don't spend any time in but have notice how often posts are made there sometimes. Most posting here is answering questions now. ~SDC~
They're not random events!!!
Yes they are, I may not have played as many games as other people but still I have never seen them in a game, if they weren't a random event they would be in every game that lasted long enough and I would have seen them. ~SDC~
That is great for Stardock. Wonder if they'll release the expansion as a stand-alone or it will require GalCiv?
Maybe, maybe not with all the trouble they have had getting retail money for Galciv in the past. This may have changed if Frogboy was willing to make this agreement but last I heard they haven't gotten any of the retail money from GalCiv, only from what was sold through the website. ~SDC~
-Is the $19.95 pre-order price a discount, or will the price be the same after it goes gold?
Don't know
-Does AP overwrite GalCiv, or is it a completely seperate install? (I ask in part because I'm still new to the original game, and want to keep them seperate).
AP is installed to a seperate folder. ~SDC~
Can you get it without paying anything, if you already have the 'retail cd' of Galciv, or it is seperate like an expansion pack where everyone has to pay for it if they want it whether or not they already own Galciv?
This isn't like the first expansion, you have to pay for it one way or another. ~SDC~
Cloaking gives you the ability to buit Phoenix ships, doesn't it? Or is that an alignment required ship?
Maybe it does I didn't say that the way I meant, I really meant the techs he listed don't do what the names imply you can, there is no cloaking system you can use for your ships, and you can't ever build stars or moons. ~SDC~

Do i have to send money?.
Answer questions, help people, if you do it enough and Stadock notices it you will be made a veteran ~SDC~
Anyway, my question is this: Are the any plans ever to allow multiplayer games
He's said no to this on more than one occasion, maybe for GalCiv2 but not for GalCiv1, its my understanding that other than getting AP out then probably doing some patches for it they are done with GalCiv1 now. ~SDC~
I know that there are sliders already in place that allow for universal control over Military, Research, and Social. But is there a way to control what a planet does at the planetary level? For instance, if I have a planet that is out of social projects, could I tell it individually to allocate all resources toward Military projects?
No, my understanding is they couldn't find a way to get the a.i to do those intelligently, and Stardock tries to avoid micromanaging. <
I am not sure I follow the logic since no one had warp drive until the humans. I do not understand how they explored space if they were bottled in by warp gates, even if they had 10 million years.
And as for this it's because the races have been advanced long enough that they have been sending probes out that over thousands of years have gotten close enough to every star in the galaxy to evaluate them. ~SDC~
