I have a friend who is interested in trying WB and IP (only) , maybe eventually buying WB.... my question: does she need to download SDC or can she just use those two programs as stand alone programs? I had a related problem way back... that's why I'm asking. BTW, she's more of a newbie than I am, if that's possible. She's not interested in "Object Desktop" so I'm not sure if she needs to download SDC or not. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/notsure.gif" border=0
Lady Aarielle
You're a genius!! Soon as I installed the "Component Tray" it went away!! Now, I can really go play with it!!! Thanks again!! This time it only took 36 posts.... That's a definite improvement!!
Then I must be in a perfect world cause I'm signed in no matter what I do!! Yeah, right! My perfect world doesn't like "the page cannot be displayed", showing... aaarrrgh CAN'T get rid of it.
Do strange things just happen to me??? I logged out on IE and SDC, then I killed the cookies. Then I click on SDC icon to open it and I'm signed in already.... that's not supposed to happen is it?? I expected to have to sign back in?!
I'll go sign out of both and see what happens.
What?? I'm writing this from SDC and it says "Welcome Lady Aarielle", and when I click the software button it shows page cannot be displayed. Also, when I open IE I'm logged in there as well. Am I missing something?
Everything else is working fine, though.
Didn't plan on being back so soon, but do you know why I'm getting "Page cannot be displayed" on the left of SDC? Click on my name, please.
Mag is back in my holster as I ride off to explore the land of "Object Desktop"! Quick, go hide, before I mess something up!! <br
Okey Dokey, Everything is working great and DX is as it should be! Themes are loading fine. Thanks again, Yrag.
OK, The bane of your existence is back!! Click on my name ... there's a whole slew of up-dates available. Do I just update everything?
Thanks a lot, Yrag. I'll keep ya posted.
OK, I'm gonna do it!! Just so I do it right after I buy it should I just come back here and ask you what to do? Or do I just follow on-screen instructions? I had a very bad experience one time that I installed and uninstalled a lot of stuff.... my PC didn't like it and I had to do a whole system restore.
No, the only thing that I have purchased so far is IP, WB, and WC Subscription. Since my area is not computers and I am a newbie at this, I figured I'd just get a couple of easy programs and see how I did. However, lately I've been thinking of getting Object Desktop.... but I'm still not sure I would know what to do with all of its components. But, I'm getting braver everyday!! <img s
Are we headed for another 128 posts, again???
FIRE!!! Oooops it was a blank! Damn! OK, I uninstalled, it rebooted, and now next to DesktopX, under available, it says 2.10. I took a screen shot but can't tell if it uploaded... wanna click on my name and see?
That mag keeps beckoning, louder and louder!
OK, SDC is now: Version: 1.92[b].61, build 50 However, DX still does not show a newer update. BTW, is there something I need to do to get SDC to look like before? For instance, "software button", check for "pre-released versions", etc.?
OK, I did as you said but SDC looks so different... it never looked like that before. Click on my name... I'm not sure what you'll see today, but I took a pic of SDC and what it looks like after the download. If you can see it you'll notice it's version 1.91 build 40.
yep, all that is done, but went to recheck and it's still the same.... it seems to go through the motions but it's still 2.1 and does not show a newer update under avilable. The boots are already on!!
.... Oui, C'est moi!! Ok, I do have "Pre-release versions" checked. When I click on DX right where "pre-released versions" is it changes and says: Version: 2.10 [History] Date: 6/21/2004 And when I c
BTW, when I right click for updates to DX in SDC it seems to go through the motions of updadting to something but it does it so fast I can't tell what it's doing.... at any rate 2.1 is what I have.
Yesrterday I installed DesktopX and now when I try to download themes I get a window telling me that the theme was built with a newer version of DesktopX. SDC version: 1.32.275 DesktopX version: 2.10 I went to Stardock to check and this seems to be the latest version?! Any suggestions? <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/notsure.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmidd
Yrag, Just thought I'd let you know that your killing the cookies idea seems to be doing the trick tonight. Thanks for all your help. So, I'm putting the mag away! Bye
Did you try going to Control Panel and removeing it from add/remove programs?
