His resume consists of math, physics, philosophy, military intelligence/research, various administrative positions, and politics. None of those things are computer science. This is what happens when smart people assume they know everything about everything and not just their fields of expertise. Don't fall for the old argument from authority fallacy. His depiction of how networks function is not just wrong but deeply and fundamentally wrong. If they worked as he described, tra

I disagree. The way the internet was built is a feature, not a bug, and those same aspects you want to eliminate are precisely the things that make it a powerful tool for freedom. You can install a single licensed copy on up to five computers concurrently if you own them and use them for personal use. Computers used professionally or owned by a business or other non-individual are not covered and require a separate license each. See more here: https://www.stardock.com/support/software_eula.aspx

If it's an older power supply (i.e. made before the GTX 900 series was released) it may not be able to correctly handle that card. Not for the obvious reason of insufficient power, but because the power demand of those cards can be very spiky, and those spikes may trigger the overvoltage protection on such older PSUs (the sudden unexpected demand spike is treated as a short, basically). I had the same issue sporadically in various games, since I'd originally built my rig a yea

Standalone purchases receive all updates until the next major release. Historically that has run parallel to Windows releases, though it's hard to say how that'll work now with Windows 10 being 'permanent'. ODNT gets you more products, and all updates (including major releases) so long as your subscription is active. You can keep what you've downloaded and continue to use it after your subscription expires, but you won't be eligible for any updates released aft

No. For folks who actually compromise remote servers, that is already a crime . For the maphackers and others who only modify the behavior of their own computer? That (TOS violation) is a grey area but most courts have held that as a civil breach of contract at most. And that's the way it should stay. TOS policies should not have the weight of criminal law. Otherwise, you could to this... <span
What we need is AV software with AI. Face it…you have a dog at home that barks at burglars, right? You have an immune system which recognizes ‘self’ vs. ‘not self’ and tries to kill ‘not self’. It works on its own, you don’t even know it’s there.
Quoting starkers, reply 10 I recall reading something a few years ago about undoing MBR attacks in the BIOS. Whether that's possible with this new wave of ransomware or not, I don't know, but it's worth looking into. If only, Mark. The MBR is encrypted, just like data files...which in most cases can't be de-encrypted.
You can actually boot off the windows install disc and replace (n

Steam won't accept the legacy keys; they have to be issued specifically to work over there. But if you are having any trouble downloading/installing from the store page, support should be able to help.

That is set in the registry via HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\OEMInformation. But if you've used a system file patcher then you'd need to do more than that to fully remove it and restore the stock system files. Side note, Windowblinds doesn't require patching system files :)
