These specs are specifically for NAND based drives. See the presentation. It was based on a 2012 JEDEC meeting if I'm reading correctly, and lots of people still use SSDs that old. Point remains, they're just the minimum specs and testing requirements. Nothing says your drive will only last that long. The endurance testing I've seen done by third parties showed the manufacturer ratings to be extremely conservative in most cases.

Worth pointing out that those figures are just the JEDEC requirements for minimum retention, not backed by real-world testing of any particular drive. The enterprise specs are lower because they are intended to run continuously and at higher temperatures, and have an order of magnitude lower threshold for acceptable error rate. Businesses will have much bigger concerns if they're out of power for weeks. In the worst case, the cost of shipping the servers to a location with
The point of the schema is to restrict the XML files to only those options the game implements in code. Modifying the correct types in the core schemas would (if anything) just let it get past validation, but it would still not work.
Haven't seen Steam prevent machines from idling to sleep, but VOIP apps such as TeamSpeak and Skype can.
Did you contact Paradox and/or Gamestop? The former made the game and the latter has owned Impulse for a few years now. There isn't really anything we can do here.
Does this folder exist on your machine? Debug Message: OpenDirectory FAILED for directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Galactic Civilizations III\Screens\Schema
If the game is crashing on trying to start a map after the first session ran fine, check your debug.err file and try backing up and clearing the contents of My Documents/My Games/GalCiv3. There may be some corrupt user data there. Verifying on Steam won't remove those files since they are produced by running the game, not installed with it. Note that if bad ship design or custom race files come back and the game still crashes after clearing that folder, you may also need to disabl
Back up anything you may want to keep (saves, etc.) and clear out the My Documents\My Games\GalCiv3. Verifying in Steam won't touch that stuff since it is user data, not installed as part of the game. The debug.err file in that folder may indicate exactly what is causing it to fail (or at least hint at it), if you check it after a crash.
Ashes is being developed by Oxide.
Put them in the Public Documents folder.
If you are experiencing crashes, please send the savegame, dxdiag, debug.err, memory dump, etc., to support as described on the support FAQ .
Yep, this is actually on the list of things to fix already.
I'm wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to use something other than an integer where you are supposed to put the modifier value.
Only whatever value type is in the schema. They are just values, there is no interpreter to make sense of other input that the game isn't built to understand. However there is some flexibility in terms of the different value types allowed.
Moved to the ashes category.
When I go to remove the app, it does not appear on the "programs", instead it shows as Impulse which makes me even more wary of this company and any company associated with it.
Because it was Impulse, our own distribution platform and thus the only means of patching the game, at the time the game came out in 2010. That entire division was subsequently sold to GameStop back in 2011 (thus the rebranding after it updated itself) so we could focus all of ou
Ok another question: I bought the Steam version, not sure if it was founders (would of bought that if I knew!) or just the Beta access version, however how in the world do I link this purchase to my forum account? I don't get any key code through steam... You should be able to log in with the account you purchased/registered the game with here , and view your keys and download the entire games.
What desktop resolution are you running? GC3 doesn't do true exclusive fullscreen. If you have fullscreen enabled, the game will render at the requested resolution and scale it up to a borderless window covering your entire desktop. So it shouldn't overscan on a big screen unless your desktop is already doing it (that's generally resolved by fiddling with the screen's zoom settings to get a proper 1:1 pixel ratio and using HDMI if you're not).
The elite founders offer ended last year and is no longer available, sorry.
New Frontiers was a euro retail bundle that includes one of the Rebellion DLC packs with it.
