Wow, what kind of ships are you planning to use against the Pirates. They are after all pirates, they run away if you bring your slow lumbering capital ships, and they'll harass and commandeer fast small ships like frigates and corvettes. Went back and played a beginner game, damn was it easy. I remembered it being fairly difficult the first couple times, but going back, it's a real stroll in the park. I pointed and the civs obeyed. Somehow the difficulty showed up as suicidal. Probably a cross version thing, I loaded it up from version 1.03. After Dreadnoughts and Rangers it's pretty much over. If you sweep up all the weapons resources, your Rangers can take on any Avatars they throw your way. And your excaliburs are pretty much invincible.

Well incredible Yors are really hard to beat, then again so are incredible Dregins, Torians, Altarians, and Arceans In all my experiences with masochistic, I've always managed to take out the Yors before I go down. Managed to take them out in the one time I won too.

Actually you mean to say, it's a very cold atmosphere over here. Sure it's warm now, but during the winter you'll freeze your butt off, and the winter is 5 months long, too. Some people blame Artic/Canadian air for the freezing weather. Some people blame the Canadians. Ahhhh. Thanks for the explanation. Well I've posted quite a few, but I haven't really introduced myself yet. I'm studying in Boston, but I live in California. I'm a student and have a really boring job, so I do this to cure the ennui. I've played since 1.01, but never had the internet connection to submit. Yors have the worst AI of the five. Dregins are strong if they can distort tribute from other civilizations. If the civilizations start resisting and the Dregins get into large wars, they will fall quickly. Yors are awful at expansion, and can't stay out of wars very easily. You'll likely see them at the top of the population chart early on (meaning no too much population in colony ships - not expanding) and then fading quickly after that Arceans have strong developm

Oh, add in reminder that starbases are worth 5bc in maintenance. And a bit more on wonders, which ones to get: Eyes of Univ and Tir-Quan are great for military campaigns. The Terraformer is always good with warning (AI might jump over prerequisite techs to research evolution control) A known bugs listing would be nice too.
