Good one, Gengsta!
There were tons more to come, Ray. :D
Gengsta
The Nickname will change nothing. The player name will change the player name that shows up on the metaverse to the new one.
Out of Place In Meta, one of the most absurd empires would have to be the Mid-West Confederation Empire. It was not Mid-West. The empire was situated in the northwest corner. Maybe they should have called it Northwestern empire. The "Confederation Empire" bit manages to confound everyone who sees it. In fact the two words by definition are mutually exclusive. Confederation suggests a loose decentralized government. Empire, on the other hand, means centralized government. However
The Pirate Ship Gengsta walked onto the shores of GROSS bay dressed as a young man heading home to see his family. His staff was carefully reshaped into a concealable wooden rod. His robes were left at the house of several kind peasants at the foot of the Blue Mountains. When the pirates found him walking by the sea, they readily took the bait, bound him and took him to their ship. There were five other prisoners onboard with him, and one of these five was the Drop Bear of the Fr
A Fellowship in Action Fellowship Halls were unusually empty these days. Ray had recruited some excellent minds and able bodies for the task of protecting the surrounding lands. At the beginning, the initiates were greeted by the entire Fellowship. Long exchanges were frequent as the guest and the members of fellowship sized each other up. Lately the Fellowship was busy training to maintain strength comparable to the large empires on its borders. New recruits joined barely withou
Nice! Welcome to the Fellowship, Richard Heaton. Come by and post something on the Fellowship thread whenever it crosses your mind. We'd love to hear your progress and maybe even share your experience and expertise. [Message Edited]
Eh date of victory should be Jan. 2200. Between the years of 2192 and 2200, my entire effort was trying to keep every race in the game alive. I kept giving away middle level techs that are valued highly in exchange for make peace with... I must have done it 20-40 times. Sometimes I bestowed my entire research lead upon the minors and the Yors. I wish I had that galactic peace UP election since I would have jumped on it right away. Taxing warring empires would have been nice too! I was a
Count Dooku, Make sure you use Monkson in the future. The thing is I don't know if you can submit the same game under two different player names. That may be your problem right now.
Gibbie, that's exactly how you do it, but you probably don't want to do the whole trade with minors bit since you are trying to ally with majors as quickly as possible, too. I won't give away too many strategies, but I just realized I forgot quite a few important things from my AAR. Giving starbases away is game right? Because I did quite a lot of that! [Message Edited]
Try grouping scores by month. Compute the scores of the groups according to the current formula and then sum up the scores for every month. I'll do this later if nobody beats me to it.
Since I did all this hard work of making the Guide (Ray's idea), I think it's fair that I get the rank of Senator if I decide to join the fellowship. How about it?
We at the Fellowship do not believe in senators. If it were possible to not have an Emperor, I would be welcome it. So if Ray does decide to agree to this deal, it would be quite a step up from your current position at GROSS since you would be the only senator here. Personally I don't care for ranks in th
Better way is to build a colony ship at one of the two planets and shift around your population that way. They are really cheap to build are doesn't cost all that upkeep. When you launch a colony ship, you take tax payers equally from both planets. When you land them, they all go to one planet. I don't know the exact numbers, but the colony ship costs 300-500 to out right buy/lease, and the Virtual Reality Center costs 400 to build. Why go with VR centers then? [Message Edited]
Wow -936!?!?!?!?!!! You must have ... accomplished some amazing feat to score like that. ::Laughs heartily at Count Doku:: ~SDC~
Ray is a recruiting machine! Join the Fellowship!
Well MIT does cultivate that. During the term, there were couple weeks that I consistently went to sleep at 3:30. Ray is living in Singapore so this is in the middle of the day for him. I'll assume Michael is an insomniac. And what you say about grad vs undergrad is true. Much of it can be attributed to the fact that undergrads just haven't come to terms with their geekiness yet and try to do everything: social, sports, work, class. We do punish ourselves with our schedule.
Eh you added an extra period, Ray try this http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=GF&id=73790
Well MIT isn't exactly a pleasant place. I have to return there in about a month. Between classes, swimming, and other activities, I end up doing nothing but study, work, swim, and party. Sometimes, I doubt the sanity of everyone there and wished the professors would make their teaching easier/clearer. Other times, I wish I had a TA that spoke English clearly. As you can see, I have a few gripes, but the students make the school and there are lots and lots of really intelligent peop
There is a difference in difficulty, but my guess is that it is comparable to all five enable. You cannot exploit the trading, but the AI doesn't trade amongst themselves either. You'll have to make a very good grab and outnumber the AI's planets. You can still trade techs with the minors. In fact, when you do get ahead in tech, try catching the minors up by giving them prerequisite techs. The rush is harder since you will have to take out so many more planets and the AI will h
Sorry! I was not paying attention. I'm writing up something to stir the Halls of the Fellowship.
70+? That's quite a number of players. I'll be game to be one of the testers. Just flesh out the details with me and we'll get started as soon as we have another.
Oh, I see. It's in your planet view. Kit is right, if your expenses does not exceed 1 bc in social or military, you get no resources. Of course, this might be intentional.
Ehh, I haven't heard any details on how to do the Sequential Games, yet. Mind filling me in? And whatever it is, I would like to try. Welcome to the Fellowship, Michael.
It's probably with my computer and GalCiv. I've been getting this problem more and more often. I better run some system maintenance procedures and see what's up. I probably need to defrag my harddrives.
Paul, what are you doing to get the message? I have not seen that message very often. What Kit is describing is a treasury low. Your message is completely different.
