I am in the middle of a game, dominating everywhere. But now all of a sudden all my worlds say no resources in the build queue even though I have a surplus income with spending at 100% and military at 100%. I just took over the Dregin and my bank account dropped to negative 5000+. What is going on? Thanks

I agree with Brackard. I love GalCiv but my playing of it has dropped off significantly. Since the expansion pack with add some new stuff and improve things here and there I would certainly pick it up for $19.95 However, since it is not a new game or a new paradigm I would balk as it goes higher than that. Why, I dunno. It is not because I do not have the money. More of a value thing I guess.
I used to be able to run GalCiv in a window with no problem. But now I cannot. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks

That worked guys. Thank you. Smitty
As my player name within the game? Or where?
Metaverse has never, ever worked for me. I submitted a score for Emperor Garrett and it fails to show.
SEIV is a great game! But different than GalCiv which is another great game! As I mentioned in another post it is like GalCiv is more of a strategic level game and SEIV is a tactical level. The strengths of SEIV such as ship design multiple branches of tech tree, mod-ability, etc is a weakness in that the AI can only be so good. ALthough there are a couple of good mods that users have created that improve upon the AI. GalCiv has limited ships, techs, etc. but allows
Interesting reading. If GalCiv was the only space civ type game I played I think I would feel some of the frustation that Papa has expressed. GalCiv, for the most part is a strategic level type of game. Not in the true sense since it is not a war game in total. You do not design ships, research specific weapons, shields, engines, etc. Infinite combinations of technology, etc. But because it does not offer all that configurability the developer is able to design a AI that p
I read somewhere that one of the updates deleted some files it should not have and that the only fix was to reinstall the entire game then apply the latest update. Is this still true or not? Confused as to how to proceed. Thanks
What about party types, which is a good one to start with?
I checked my save game and he is correct. Your GalCiv serial number is embedded in the file he mentioned. Seems to be a hole in the scheme. I am glad I have not sent a saved game out into the world for others to mess with.
You have to get it from stardock online for now. Later they will release it as a standalone patch.
My two cents, Frogboy, great game none the less. Everyone seems passionate about it which brings out the coulda/shoulda comments. In other words the fact that people care about scores, metaverse, etc. indicates that the game is loved. Not sure what you meant by the six months comment, but typically user base falls way off and dies in that time frame which is what I figure you mean. Hopefully your concept of free expansion pack will keep it alive and growing! <b
Ah Def Zep, If that is true then that would explain it for me. Thanks ;)
Anyone? :notsure:
Ah, is that why there is a sweet spot on the tax rate where you get diminishing returns once you go past a certain point?
If I have a ship set to sector sweep then why does the game pause on that ship as if I have to move it each turn? Thanks
I just do not get it. After the first 10-20 turns my situation is such. I had created 3-4 colony ships and founded good worlds. Scout ship is running around every where playing the pop the anomily game. But I quickly get negative money (from purchasing colony ships of course) which I guess leads to the NO RESOURCES on my planet screens where i am trying to build things. I have taxes cranked up to the max that I can and government spending down to a trickle. My only big expense is the lease
Yes, it clearly does not work very well. I have tried several times to submit scores from two of my games and none have appeared. I have no way of knowing if the submissions are accepted or not. It would be nice that if there was a problem it would tell you realtime or at least send a email or something..... Great game but the metaverse concept, while being a good idea, seems to have some issues. [Message Edited]
Well I do not think I have two different email addresses. At least not that are tied to the game. I tried again using the email address and my name sgsmitty64 but it is not appearing. I sort of wish it would tell you successful or not.
I have tried to submit a couple of games without success. I am not sure why. Is it sensitive that the Alias you specify on the submission screen in the game must match a registered user or is it tied to the email address? I may have screwed myself up royally somehow by using two different email addresses. Can someone help? Thanks,
