Some interesting suggestions. I feel that some kinda clean up has gotta come around sooner or later. A good point too about the Beta not really helping increase general awareness in the gaming community. If I may put foward my personal opinion regarding this great games marketing. The Original release has to be 'revamped' so an out of the box purchase has the stability of 1.05 or better. What you buy off the shelf is virtually unplayable and contuary to popular belief I know plenty of f

Nine! WT . . . thats 3 orders of magnitude less than 3000 . . . must have a bug or something in the game? Nine . . . thats the kinda score I used to get for a loss without any patches. I obviously didn't sumbit that one . . . [Message Edited]
I'm concerned . . . seems there was only about 50 games sumbitted on the weekend. That doesn't seem like very many . . . I'm not seeing too many new faces on the boards either these days, do you think that the GC retail release has pretty much maxed out? Do you think the general release of the Beta will revive consumer interest in this game? Not a pleasant topic I know but skirting around the issue isn't going to magically help SD any. :notsure: I wonder if one day this M
Congratulations! And congrates in advance and wishing you luck on the Download . . . can't buy it where you are I guess? Oh well . . .
Hehehe . . . I can picture using those gifted 100 corvettes on a tiny map to make a impenitrable (sp?) wall across most of the screen. I never knew ships could physically block access for the other tubs, I just always thought they overlaped.
OH . . . Thats a good idea, thanks didn't know that. :)
Has anyone noticed the discrepency between player scores as listed in the Empire Lists and personal profile in comparison to the Metaverse listing? Not that its an issue but why is it so I ponder . . . I koknokno?
Semi-ontopic kinda. When you buy a transport floating in space from another civilization (i.e. one thats about to invade a planet you'd like to have (ussually costs oddles of bc)) do the troops suddenly become human?? And if so how can that be possible? Because it seems to me they are . . . they get all the research bonuses I have but shouldn't. They should only be of the quality and race that the selling civilization has . . . do you know what I mean? Also is there any way you can laun
This is an older version issue resolved long ago . . . ;)
Theoden of Rohan ditto! I hate the Yor as much as anybody! Even when they are falling at my feet in worship or defeat they remain so very snide . . . LOL I like the Coke machine idea! Ray yes I've given up on adding a Maso to the score study (for the moment) . . . sry to hear about your Gigantic/Abundant game that would be a huge!!! scoring one if you could pull it off, just imagine the population? Wow . . . My main problem (getting back to maso) is a lack of co-oporation
Citizen Robert LeMaster - I must admit I've never tried it on maso (Terro Star Backstabbing) but when your allied on crippling this tactic (or so I've heard . . hehe) seems to work fine. Perhaps Frogboy might change the coding so the AI isn't so trusting even when allied. Alternatively victory conditions that promote senseless slaughter over and above all others as a means to obtain a higher score might be re-considered? Economic Cheese 4 Although it's been mentioned
bump' me two! I think the answers is yes. You could confirm this by comparing the value of your trade routes befor and after building an econ' starbase. Also you can see the ammount of trade 'to you' and 'from you' other civilizations are getting in a spash-screen that comes up on accasion. I'm not sure exactly where this info is outside of that . . . in stats somewhere? Makes sence because the SB upgrades say for anything passing through that sector . . . mmm :notsur
Evil Cheese 101 . . . Cheese 2 The AI seems to have a talent for maintaining a huge millitary and balancing thier budget . . . thats great! I am happy for them . . . >:( Unfortunately for them they seem oblivious to the activites of thier 'allies' as far as Starbase managment goes. Once your approaching completing all your research spend your spare resources building constructors. Send these humble little worker bees off to build Terror Stars (TS) in adjacent
Joy :notsure: (Just Kidding) ;) Thanks your your praise all, having fun is easy! I must return to the Laboratory. Launching now into attempt number four(-ty two) on Maso . . . good grief! :p Kit you'll no doubt pass me again soon . . . so I must enjoy this rare moment while it lasts and say . . . "Na na Na na Na Na (rasberry)!" :d . . . it all in good fun . . hehe. A 'Calkwalk' submission by Ray! . . . that (if nothing else) would be the local highlight
Well my experiment is almost complete. Played through nearly the whole spectrum of difficulties to try and figure out the scoring bonuses??? Interestingly the only level in which I missed trade goods etc was on 'Crippling' (missed Guide Book, Tri-steel and Behaviour Modifiers and two wonders Galactic Exhibition and . . . I can't recall the other, historic somthing or rather :notsure: ). In all theses endevours I generally exercized superior diplomacy and held the strongest economy thr
Wow . . in one of my crippling games (actualy my only crippling game I think . . . hehe), The Torians built 2 of the monsters, both on millitary resources. Pity they couldn't move anywhere because of the Councils decree later in the game (i.e banning Terror Stars). I wonder how much newspaper flour and water it would take to build a fake one, you know around a usless planet or something . . . Cherrio!
Yes I agree it shouldn't definately be fixed! LOL . Well not at least until I've finished my 'experiment' this weekend . . . it being a long weekend here in Brizzie and all! Yiha [Message Edited]
Kit . . . your onto me LOL I'll just have to post the dozens of near win saved games I have up my sleeve . . . (I wish). Good to see you playing Maso . . . and winning! I'm still a ham and egg player (I have no illusions about that), but mabye one day . . . one day ;) Interestingly enough, regarding my experiment. So far I've played each of the first four levels from cakewalk to normal difficulty. Attaining a similar score in each for acheiving much the same kind of win. Shoul
Friday Res-Erection! So how come sometimes Terror stars seem able to destroy planets with ships in orbit sometimes and at other times not? It would be good if in the Beta (probably too late now) if you could make Fake Terror Stars (like out of Paper-mache (?sp)) . . . Ok final question . . . has anyone anywhere at anytime ever in the history of this game actualy had one of thier own systems destroyed by an AIs Terror Star?
The MWC alignment as of 8-8-03 . . . Very Evil - 2% Evil - 16% Neutral - 20% Good - 62% Very Good - 0% :D
The GROSS alignment as of 8-8-03 . . . Very Evil - 9% Evil - 47% Neutral - 21% Good - 18% Very Good - 5% :SURPRISED: [Message Edited]
Might need some updating though, me might trowl trough and post something for a change . . .
Your right, but then again . . . destroying 6 nearly fully populated planets with terror stars and still being considered the 'Kindest' Race is a little unsettling too. :notsure:
Couldn't edit . . . ")".
Well I was on the scary Research Route to get The Terraformer in my game last night (48 turns spending 96% on research). While I do long research like this I just let my scouts do thier thing (hopping for a 25% research boon!) and leave the Diplomatic Relations screen open with all the AIs shown and click, click, click (watching relations carefully). As ussual I had no millitary (except gifted rangers)but every trade good and wonder with a very high tech rating and morale. I'm the pass
