I had the same issue , actually the cause was not SB but the audio codec I had installed , so what I did is removed all "external" audio codecs that I had on my system and installed the Microsoft's one . This fixed the issue (in two other games too ) . ~SDC~

I played a lot but I still can't understend how you USE terror star to destroy the system. I did not found any such option in menu and moving the TS on the system does not help either ... ~SDC~

To me it sounds like a hardware problem , if I was you I would starting to check your computer , GalCiv has it's problems but they are not that seriouse. For the start test you memory using MemTest86 (http://www.memtest86.com/) .... ~SDC~

I preffer B5 mode too over any other , but this is a different things - want it and make it ;) One thing sure it will never be done by StarDock - story rights... :( ~SDC~

In short term : I would like to see a better way to "sort" ships in a build queue , having sorted them aphabetically like it now makes me a lot of head eache :) It's better to have a way (or always) to sort them by "power" or something like this , as minimum may be by cost to build. Also it would be nice to be able to make some ships types absolite, after surten point I do not want to see in my queuee choices the basic scout when I have more advanced types of the ships for this
