Galactic Civilisations is better because you're in control of an entire empire. You answer to no one. As opposed to being a lone starpilot who has to make do with what he's got.

Whoa you mean you had no video memory of any kind before? Ouch, even my oldest video card has two megs. Yeah green rocks and orange spiky things both hatch monsters, you can lead them into enemy territory and they wreak havoc to their fleet.

IMHO, once you've beaten DI and played DII, you never want to go back. The only good reason for going back is if you just want to know more about the story. The first game only has 4 missions per saga, and the graphics are really smudgy because of the 640x480 resolution. Also there are no trigger events of any kind, which means neutral units just stand there for the entire game waiting to be killed, and generals can't be exported for use in quests. Th

Bags of gas may need a certain gas to interact with in order to survive, and they will eventually run out of food if there is nothing to replace it. Just like ugly bags of mostly water, they would need another life form to live off of. Something to take water and seperate the components to make hydrogen for example.

Once again I must reiterate. It's our lives or theirs. A little red icon beside my medals has nothnig to do with it. Any giant worms that show up on Earth and destroy soil should be destroyed. Also, "walking" was a metaphor, I hadn't expected to explain it to you.

Because the hitpoints on starbases use the same system that ships do. IE technologies like exotic alloys increase hitpoints on ships also increase hitpoints on starbases. Same with Tristrontium Steel.
