anyone using the new 'm' chips from intel? IT guy at work got a new laptop today with one of em.. said it tops out at 1.7ghz but had so much push, and was so small and cool, that it was choice for the price.

why don't you just tell itunes to convert them to mp3? i moved to mp3 format so i know it will play on anything. dvd players, care stereos and such are still catching up with putting mp3 technology in.. it'll be a while yet for aac.. keep everything mp3 and it will play anywhere.

in video editing, you find that GB's are like MG's. they get eaten up really god damn fast. or, if you happen to be storing a divx collection. 30 movies isn't uncommon, and thats around 30 gigs. i had, before my wma-mp3 conversion dissaster, 30 gigs of wma's..now we're up to 60 gigs, 20 gigs of programs, 80, another 20 gigs of games, thats 100. i could use a couple terradrives and never have to worry about storage again.

xero had an aim skin that looked like ichat. it was the single coolest looking thing on windows i've ever seen. if anyone has information on where to grab that skin and how he applied it, i'd appreciate it. i couldn't find it on his website.

well, my home system for whatever reason has rejected Go Back so i've been forced to use system restore a couple times.. alternatively, my laptop's had to go back a couple times. go back seems to have much more flexibility and options.. and the fact that it loads the second your computer boots helps prevent accidents on a higher level. the two times i tried to sys restore, for whatever reason, windows said it couldn't go through with it, and i had to eat the driver mistake i made. go b

hope you guys arn't doing graphics on your lcd's. they've yet to impress me.. my gf's got a new studio display on her g4.. she prints from my machine where i've got a trinny, and wonders how she missed all of the real light gray marks in her photo. even the cinema's scare me a little.. as crisp and colorful as they are. $$$$.

doesn't the fan sound annoy you? nah. but then again, i recently vacated a situation where i slept in the same room as my computer. my machine purrs.. which is pretty darn suprising, its built like a tank.. very simple, metal, and has 4 fans. now what i DO hear is an additional 3 fans in one of my drive bays.. a harddrive cool

i completely got rid of it on my laptop.. and windows messanger. if i tried to load a wmv it craps out or looks to video lan. i keep it around on my main machine's tho in case of video editing... i think avi's are a great video format.

i did have this one major problem with windows media player, and other then this fact i believe it is a GREAT player.. better then itunes. Windows Media Audio. a nice idea. a great design. WONDERFUL quality and great compression. but TRY CONVERTING IT TO MP3.. media player won't let ya do it. microsoft doesnt offer software to do it. private companies who have offered software to do it have vanished. roxio will let you do it, but that's an expensive peice of software. and when
