A very nitpicky thing to complain about but the description of the Harvester has a few typos. It says "Economy unit; move to a Generator to increase its base income by 15 Multiple Harvesters can enhance a region" while it should say "Economy unit; move to a Generator to increase it's base income by 15%. Multiple Harvesters can enhance a region" It's not really a big deal at all, it'd just make the descripti

These balance discussions are starting to look more and more like how they go on FAF.
The problem was my SSD, since I moved the game to my hard drive I've had no issues.
It just instant crashes for me too. Maybe somebody else could have a go or you might have to start from scratch, the map could be unfixable.
What size was it in km and what build quality were you using? I think 16GB of RAM isn't ideal for maps that are 81 and 96km. You could upload it and I could try to rebuild it for you, the map editor is fairly reliable for me. Sometimes a map can get broke to a point you just have to start over though.
They were probably all 14 player max size maps which would slow down a lot of systems quite a bit. With lots of units it'd get very taxing for nearly all CPUs. They were originally seen in November so probably won't be seen again for a while, but maybe they'll appear again soon because of the Ryzen CPUs having more cores.
For the benchmark the higher clocks are probably better, I'm not sure how much Ashes benefits from having more than 4 cores right now. There are only 3 vast maps right now that I know of. I would say the "6 core maps" just were not completed or are for a DLC. It probably wasn't intended for them to be in a release build.
It was crashing the night the update came out and it would have been clean then. The day after then it was 50/50 if it'd work, alright for a while and then started crashing again. The last few hours I was making the mods it was fine then, it seems totally random. I doubt it's a result of anything I've done with the files, they worked fine before the update and now there's greater support for them. If I'm playing today I'll see how it goes, it was more apparent
Details on the three mods. Unit Pack Link Adds buildable Brute MK1, Sentry, Sapper, Emergency Turret, Carving Turret, Micro Turret and a more advanced Quantum Relay to the PHC. Adds buildable Saboteur, different version of the Avatar, Serpentine Turret and a more advanced Quantum Archive to the Substrate. Unit Pack+Eng
Seems to be crashing with and without. Sometimes I can go 2 times in a row without crashing or 5 crashing. It's only at this since the opt in so I doubt it's anything with my computer. Edit: Looks like it's ok now, after 6 crashes in a row it's sorted itself out for now, very strange though. Unfortunately it's still at it. It seems completely random if it crashes on startup or not, sometimes it's fine other times multiple crashes in a row, I can't t
I didn't know you could do that, I thought it was all or nothing. Unless I've missed this too a key to select an engineer without jumping to them.
About 50% of the time Escalation crashes on startup with the new opt in, in DX12 with the -modding launch option. I have all files closed while starting and have been using this launch option all the time so it's something got to do with the new patch.
I would like to see a building queue on engineers like Supreme Commander to easily cancel a single building without having to get rid of the whole queue and to have grids to make it easier to see what can be build where.
Some really great additions there, nice work.
On top of all that I'd also like to see a way to donate a region and resources to allies, human or AI.
Doesn't work for me either. Edit: Nevermind
It appears quite a lot of people did not get the DLC so it looks like support will be busy. I think you just get the DLCs added automatically you won't see a season pass.
Some nice additions in this update.
I'm nearly certain nobody has. Only a couple of people have even made maps.
So a patrol route like Supreme Commander?
I said DLC maps not scenarios, Tag Utter's solution does work for scenarios though.
If I remember right it works in DX11, so it was never removed.
It's been possible to play the DLC maps the whole time. Go to Steam\steamapps\common\Ashes of the Singularity\Assets\Maps and copy and paste the maps from there to the Escalation maps folder.
I remember in FAF for a very long time high skilled players would go first bomber and micro the thing to drop it's bombs off in a shorter pass and to take sharper turns, I think it ended most matches in 5 minutes. They had to take away a lot of it's effectiveness when it was discovered it was getting rid of most of the new players. I'm guessing it's just the Dominator that is used for the air rushes. Quite a lot of videos on Never's channel that I've watched
I think any player of an average skill and up in FA needs micro to win. The game is surprisingly micro heavy. There's definitely macro in it but TAG Utter's examples are things you'd see used quite frequently in matches. There's lots of other uses of micro in the game. Ashes in comparison nearly plays itself. You are 100% correct in saying Starcraft has much more micro, FA is probably somewhere in between with the use of macro and micro and Ashes then is at t
