I dont understand what is so important about damage dealing system and why would you never play Sins again cause of it, but anyway, that is one thing about Sins i was definitely not talking about. Instead, i was alluding to the empire building aspect of Sins - that feeling you are actually playing long-term big-scale game and the factions have different ways in which they can approach it (TEC by turtling, Vasari scorched earth etc...).
Anyway, regarding the new game, i hope its going to be more "Sins like" this time around. By which i mean more varied factions with deep technological trees differing on strategic level. This is what Ashes lacks and feels rather bland because of it.
Well that souds good, but if they implement the damage dealing system(it felt soo unrealistic to me, because of that I never want to play Sins again... ), what wo
Finally some fresh info after a long silence... Well, I personally dont't mind if there is a sequel if I can send even more Dreads and Juggs to battle ... And I'm quite interested in the Ashes Universe, so I'm curious about where the plot will take us ...
Well, its a shame, but all of you said is true. People nowadays are don't want to learn to play strategy games, because at the start they are much slower than MOBA-s or FPS-s(even SC2, what is one of the fastest RTS-s). But the grand scale RTS-s have one thing, what nowadays MOBA/FPS genre can't achieve. And that is the SATISFACTION what you feel, when you are close to the end of a match, and on a winning side(of course i don't want to mock the losers, thats far from me, they just feel anothe
I remember playing demo of the WarFront. Germans had a massive airship if i remember correctly. It was decentish game, certainly very professionally done, but in the end, it IMO lacked something extra.
I played the whole game through the end, the German missions was good, but i didn't bothered with the Americans or the Soviets... Only the Germans felt unique, the others was worse than the "meh" category... And yes, becau
Oh, and Cybran walking ships were utter BS too. Especially in SC2, where all of them could walk. Instead of trying to make naval gameplay unique, the devs decided to blur the difference between land and water. If you plan something like that for future Ashes navies, dont even bother.
Dont mention SC2! It doesn't exists! We all know that "game" was a HUGE letdown , even compared to No Man's Sky... I played a lot of with t
BTW, regarding the part of the CnC bombers returning to the base for reload, this is exactly what Ashes bombers should do. Just having them endlessly circling the skies, throwing occasional bomb, unless something shoots them down, is so boring. Just makes planes glorified flying tanks or straight up gunships. They sucked in SupCom too, for this very reason. The need to return to reload is exactly the thing which made them in games line CnC un
Generals Gentlemen! I have a favor to ask! In the next update, please increase the damage output on the PHC Prometheus three plasmacannons. The tooltip says theese weapons shred trough cruisers, but in the sad reality, it can't even make a dent on frigates, not mentioning cruisers.. I know it deals most of the damage with its quad pulse cannons, but still... Thoose 3 cannons feels like ornaments, not actual weapons, even the side autoguns can do a better dp
Yes, i have to say, experimental units add a very uniqe feeling to all RTS-s what use them. Sadly, there are only a handful of them. But you missed only one RTS , what contains Experimental units ( well its more on less based on entirely on experimental units), and that is a Hungarian RTS made in 2007, named WarFront: Turning Point. Its an alternative WW2 RTS(slightly mediocre), similar to C&C Generals, but most units based on the "What if.." trope, and especially in
Well, not bad, but the Retributor's sound still lacking some real punch, it's sound like something an electrical discharge rather than a beam weapon frying sound... We need something like this (first a loud initiating sound, and then a constant buzz or something): Ahoj!
Nope. NEVER!
I agree all with , but you guys DON'T FORGET one FUNDAMENTAL DIFFERENCE from Starcraft. Ashes was built for to follow the path, what Total Anninhilation laid back, and later SupCom followed, and much later the path divided for that abomination what we call Planetary Annihilation now (Sorry, im still angry with UBER, even the Titans can't soothe my anger..), and Ashes. And that difference is the speed up everything until your resource holds. Can you speed up worker & unit & bui
It is incredibly doubtful Ashes will ever be a game like Starcraft. People flock to Starcraft's multiplayer because it's quick - most games average just 12 minutes in length. Ashes is a big, strategic-leaning RTS, games go on for quite some time, so you'll lose a lot of the e-sport hopefuls right out of the gates.
I hope to Ashes NEVER EVER be like Starcraft. I played countless hours with Starcraft, and the
I don't think that's a fair assessment. People flock to Starcraft's multiplayer because of its immense strategic and mechanical depth, an endless skill ceiling, meticulous design and superb balance. I think game length has little to do with it, Dota and League of Legends games go for ~40 minutes on average.
You can't be serious? A LoL player who played tha damned MOBA more than 2+ years, i have to
Yeah, I'm hoping some of the Dreads/Juggs we get in the future are a little more ridiculous looking. The Czar isn't awesome because it's a flying T4 unit - it's awesome because it's like playing the mothership from Independance Day. The Monkeylord isn't awesome because it's a T4 mech - it's awesome because you can watch leagues of T2 and T3 units simply disappear before its maser. The T4s in the game both look and act super unique among al
Here is a sneak peek from the Total Mayhem MOD, my favourite Cybran unit, The Avalanche MK.2: PS: If we get an unit similar in Ashes, then I shall not live in vain..
My 2 cents about this: +1: And General, you missed the fact to SC FA comes with an extreme modding ability , just some MODs, what takes the game UP TO ELEVEN: Sorian Ai: The only viable option if you want to play against a computer, cause the stock ai is dumb as a rock, and a resource hog.. Black Ops, Xtreme Wars, Total Mayhem: Adds a HELLUVA LOT of unit, buildings, etc..( Even more terrifying T5 Experimentals what cost a MOUNTAIN of resources and time, but when
Well, this picture can give some help: I measured the Prometheus for the pine trees in the right. If an average tree is about 5 meters tall, then the Prometheus is at least as tall as a 10 story building (~30m). And since the Leonidas at least 2 times bigger than it, so Juggernauts are really dwarf any other units... Then at least a Leonidas is bigger than
Hi! Sorry my late reply, but I want to share my 2 cents too. First question: What about ORGANIC aliens? For example, this: Theese are aliens named B.E.T.A (<span style="background-color: #1a1a1a; color: #d5d4d4
But why have the Atlas a Flak gun instead missile launchers ? Because that design is similar the UEF Flayer T3 AA missile system in SupCom. And it feels like a catapult threwing ballista bolts instead giant boulders, if you know what im saying.. This is an UEF Flayer. Clearly a missile launcher , eh ? And here is the Atlas for comparison. They are similar, aren't they ? <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/forums/67/73/6773483/8b95b29a-cc31-4e9c-b02c-469a8364835f.jpg" alt="" widt
Bought it! But i have a serious issue, posted on Steam too..: Errm, 405 base DPS on the Atlas ? o_O Wtf ? Even the Apollo with all of its weapons dont have that many ,,, The Atlas SUPPOSED be WEAKER, not STRONGER... <span sty
Finally a PHC AA frigate! I've been waiting for this about a millenia X) !
Well, i played a lot more games, and ill have to say, this instant kill is a BUG! Tried with a lot of difficulty scale, even with a friend helped me deducing, so the problem is, when ANY AA structure is being upgraded, even the lightest attack oneshoots them.. This isnt normal in my opinion.
The only problem is, this was in Skirmish mode, and my teammate was an Ai... But well i dont care anymore, a cheating AI will ALWAYS be a cheating AI ... XD
Ok, but then why can't oneshot my teammate's Blossom launcher ? Only my Constable ?
