I had the same issue (Windows 7 64 bit). In the shortcut for the game I disabled visual themes and desktop composition and now it runs fine with both monitors. Oh, wanted to add I still have the issue if I tab out of the game and then tab back in it sometimes won't come back, forcing me to kill it from task manager. THAT is irritating.

I think you must have been watching an episode of Stargate. [e digicons]B)[/e]
Just wanted to say hi to everyone. I hadn't played in a long time but just got back into the game. This empire looked like it fit my playstyle. :)
I don't know what it is about my gameplay style, but metal is always my main problem. I play the unity race, I don't know if that makes a difference or not. Actually, come to think of it, when I played one game as TEC I did have a crystal shortage rather quickly.
The only thing I've noticed so far is that my survey ship forgets how to automatically survey after a while. It will be sitting right next to an anomoly and will ignore requests to auto survey. I have no idea what triggers it to forget because it does work for quite a while. I am extremely happy that the disappearing ship thingie seems to have gone away. :) (maybe it went away a while ago, but I haven't played for ages)
I had the same issue and had to force SDC to update before I could see version 1.13. Tools | Check for Application Updates is what I did I think. :) Hope that helps.
Can you play the beta and still submit scores? I don't want to download the beta unless it won't affect my ability to play and submit games. Thanks
Thanks guys. I finally got it to work. I had to force SDC to update itself (it wasn't doing it automatically for some reason), and then I could see the new versions of galciv. Now if I only had time to play....
I've been out of commission for quite some time (lots of stuff going on) and was finally trying to get around to updating my game. In Stardock Central I can only see version 1.12.079. I can't see 1.13 or the Beta (I have a drengin.net subscription). Yes, I have 'show pre-release versions' checked. Any ideas?
I should be back into action soon. I had a hellacious holiday season unfortunately. Too many bad things happened. :( Anyway, I'll likely get a couple of games in tomorrow. Next week, my mom is having surgery, and I'm heading out to KY to help take care of her. I'll likely be able to play some there too, though probably not too much.
Wow, I'm still in the top 25. That's pretty amazing. I think it's been about a month since I've been able to play. >sniff< I miss Galciv.
It's just horrid work deadline time for me. :( Work is really really sucking. No game time for me.
Congrats surther. :) I had to restore my system back to a couple weeks ago, and I forgot to save my latest galciv game! :sniff!: Now I have to start alllll over. Though, I'm working loooooooong hours right now, so I'm still slacking on galciv.
I think making colony ships somewhere down the tech tree would really cripple the human player more (well, on maso at least). The AIs already have such a high tech research rate that it wouldn't hurt them, and they'd have the colony rush, while the human player would be severely hurt by it.
Yeah, i'll probably play a few of those after I finish this one. I like the tiny maps because you can play one in a couple hours. I just figured I'd be able to get the medium maso in, but then my cat had to go to the emergency vets on Sunday, and I didn't really feel like playing any galciv.
Well, I've got a medium maso I'm chipping away at. I just haven't had time to play it for more than a few minutes at a time. Stupid real life getting in the way of gaming...
Every little bit counts Nicholas. I suspect the MWC will regain it's place after the holidays. Right now seems to be a time for family more than anything else. :D (or horrid work deadlines)
Sure it does. I'm not from the mid-west either. :) Welcome to the group. :D
Or recruit a bunch more people!
I tried to vote but got an error when I submitted. Ah well.
If we're talking about interface issues, I would LOVE for there to be a way to talk to the next alien from the diplo screen with the current alien. Instead of having to click exit then click on the next alien. :) Not a huge deal, but I do alot of 'round robin' tech trading, and it would make things so much easier.
Yeah, I also have a huge deadline for work. My project is due the 23rd, so I don't have much extra time right now. :sniff!:
Well, that sucks then. :( I'll try to get a couple games in this week.
Programming Monkey
I didn't end up with any time to play a game yesterday. :( Kasual, I just don't think anyone in the MWC was playing this week.
