Its been a good while since we’ve been thrown a bone about the future of Ashes. In the past there has been talk about a new game on the drawing board, but afaik thats all we know so far? Is there some (any) news to share yet? If not, perhaps any bones about when we can expect some more info?

In order to make it easy for people to get into contact with eachother and discuss game and non-game related stuff while away from the game or your computer, I've taken the liberty to setup a Discord server. Discord is a free application for all mobile devices as well as your desktop and it enables the use of voice chat in custom assigned channels, text chat, roles for members and bot support. Feel free to join and share a join link with others from the community.
clearly there are pro's ans cons to either minimaps or strategic zoom. So why not have the option for both? if we would be allowed to have several windows which we can then configure how we see fit we might have an option that is super flexible aNd allows the player to get his info the way he prefers. windows filters could then further specify how the info is displayed; for example one big view for your main window where the action is. One zoomed out view window for a stra
A Not so great thing I see in a great game; Distant Worlds, (also a grand scale game) is that groups of units devolve into a big blob of units all piling onto eachother when engaging a target! Formation control is non existent and I find this to be rather essential in games with large scale warfare. so I really hope for a decent formation system in Ashes.
Sounds, great Frogboy! I am thrilled to find out what we founders will get to chew on soon! 1) Computronium is an interesting concept. Do I understand correctly that this 'victory point' ticker is active all the time and so maps are going to be played on a timer? I am not sure I would like that, but as long as there's an option to have unlimited time it would be a fine feature for those who do. I have never liked RTS games with a time limit and I hate the timed mis
The screenshots do show structures of some kind. So I would assume from these screens that you can build facilities. I am not sure wether this entails full base building mechanics, it might be that you build your economy on the strategic layer rather than on the strategic layer, but at least they show some buildings on the screenshots. :)
As a huge SupCom and TA fan, I am happy to see this game being announced! :) One cent I would like to add off the bat is that I hope map design will be much more detailed in this game than it was in SupCom. They were big, sure. But most maps were just terrain without any hint of civilization anywhere. i hope the maps in this game will feature settlements, or industrial areas, (abandoned) research facilities scattered over the huge maps, instead of just huge spreads of terrain.
I agree with the OP. The game has taken me by surprise but I love every minute of it. Highly polished and fun to play (and re play, for that matter).
Me too :)
