Aslo,They are actually a toolbar and some proggies will treat it that way so you can't make them too dark or you'll have black ( hard coded) text on a dark background. A common mistake is to make the pop up menus "fancy" but all that does is hamper usability if they are too cr

Vista doesn't have the sizing bar that runs along the top of the taskbar. You are using XP skins on Vista and that's why they are riding high. Look for skins made for Vista. Like mine. :)
