Given the symptoms I would suggest something is interfering with Start11s ability to run windows search indexer searches over time. This could be a resource leak from something else, an OS bug or some other cause. Given it seems new and Start11 1.x has not changed in a long time it would seem most likely to be external to Start11 itself. It would be interesting to see the resource usage of explorer.exe when it stops working, both for memory, GDI, USER and handles usage.&nb

Updates to Start11 that should prompt you are uncommon, so unless you have installed it via ODM and have show betas enabled you shouldn't be getting regular update prompts at all. I would check what version your Start11 shows in the UI as the latest release is 2.7, though there is a 2.71 in the pipeline ready for release soon. It may be something is stopping the installation working hence requests for updates regularly.

I am currently running Windows 11 Insider Preview build 29580.1000 with Start11 2.7. The issue I previously reported is still present: taskbar labels can become incorrect,
Installing 2.7 has messed up the desktop icon display with the taskbar on top. I am running START11 on 3 machines, two 24H2 and one 25H2. The behavior changed with the install of 2.7 on all three. I tried to put images in this post but apparently i don't know how. After 2.7 the top row of desktop icons are under the task bar, before 2.7 they displayed as expected. I am using the auto hide taskbar option when a window is under
Any update on a fix for this? I was hoping the latest update which mentioned a fix for an issue with cropping of the thumbnail previews was a fix for this issue, but I just connected my second monitor today and the problem still happens. I have to restart explorer from withing Start11 to get them back to normal.
I believe this was resolved in 2.7. I would suggest uninstalling, REBOOTING and then

This is usually a flaw in the apps you are launching. They are not respecting the workarea as they should. Sometimes this is because of previously saved coordinates for a window.

This may happen if the Stardock WindowBlinds service is set to be not running for some reason. Some 'startup optimizing' utilities may do something like that.

We have been able to reproduce this. It only happens when taskbar is at the top of the screen is enabled. This will be resolved in the next update. This will however not solve much for you as the taskbar will then be at the bottom of the screen. I was unable to reproduce any issue with the taskbar at the top without that setting enabled though.
