Two things that forgot to be mentioned 1> Ships with a defense value that is greater than their attack value get a special bonus – when attacked, half their defense counts as an attack. A Battle Axe with 3 attack and 6 defense actually gets to roll up to a 6 for its attack roll when it is attacked. 2>Factors that come into play include looking at how much military might is in orbit of that star system. (regarding resistance to culture flipping). Defenders DO have a go

Well, the other reasons I think wading through the long thread is not only tedious but a basic waste of time is a lot of the earlier pages are no longer applicable due to game updates. Imagine reading a cool tactic in an early post, only to find out that paticular stratagy of pseudo-cheese has been addressed in an update, and that update itself is obsolete. lol That, and current viable stratigies can be a pita to find (like the start oulined on post 1026 or something clost to that numbe

Just finished reading the ANZAC A.S.S. thread. nice reading. One thing that GROSS might want to consider is the possibility of a new thread. Reading an empire thread that is 8 pages is attractive, reading one that is 82 pages long is intimidating, and a lot of good evil stories will be missed. And after all, it's the stories that is going to attract newbies to fold (maybe). I quit at the end of page 4. granted, it was an early exit from the thread. but I was tired, had my 4th con
You should check all of "G.R.O.S.S. communication thread", "Come sail the sea of stars with G.R.O.S.S.", "ANZAC Empire, 'Bridging the Ditch' Thread", "Pirates of the Southern Seas", and "T h e - C a r i E l f - f a n c l u b".
That would mean reading 3920 posts (and counting) :SURPRISED: Perhaps that is part of the master plan. Aye, ya planet lubber, but considering I am still undecided on which morality I am going to settle into, I might corrupt your ranks with foul mouthed fuzzy bunnies. cut scene One-eyed peg-legged Energizer Bunny hacking a Duracell battery to bits with a small axe, spewing obscenities and laughing maniacally. end cut scene As for role playing, tis something that I really never got into, not because of lack of interest, but lack of creative writing skill (in that aspect).
Great! To stop reloading cheese, perhaps the event could be predetermined at map creation.
I agree. Just because I enjoy finding cheezy workarounds, does not mean that I employ them during a normal game. Esp when that score is used in a community. (fyi)
I see you have also started reading some of our old forum posts.
Indeed, and am doing that also. But as a specific questions come to mind, I try using the search function as well, which has the side effect of deep sea forum scuba diving.
Where the heck did that quote come from anyways?
LOL. Third page. I read through the fourth page out of boredom waiting for the FV to Dl, or the CD to arrive, which ever comes first. Was just giving GROSS a little piss as they were they first to offer possible membership. I Like the response I got. I wish i had the option of going to a friends place, but alas the problem is not in my associations, but the local companies. DSL is not avail in this area because they are still using lines installed during the telegraph period. Such a price one must pay for being able to have deer walking around in your yard during the early morning fog. (Kentucky hill country). Downtown is a fork in the road next to a RR crossing. Which also explains why the game can not be found locally. Closest "Best B

Why Condoms Come in Boxes of 3, 6, or 12 A man walks into a drug store with his 8-year old son. They happen to walk by the condom display, and the boy asks, "What are these, Dad?" To which the man matter-of-factly replies, "Those are called condoms, son.... Men use them to have safe sex." "Oh I see," replied the boys pensively. "Yes, I've heard of that in health class at school." He looks over the display and picks up a pack

MWAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!! The thread hijacking pirate swoops down on the useless fodder and turns it into something even less usefull. ********************* Three women die together in an accident and go to heaven. When they get there, St. Peter says, "We only have one rule here in heaven...don't step on the ducks." So they entered heaven, and sure enough, there are ducks all over the place. It is almost impossible not to step on a duck, and although they try
Yes, I have thought of this as well. All techs have a cost in bcs and it would be good to include the cost in the tech tree viewer (Xpack feature).
A progress bar would also be nice for those techs not fully researched yet. Or better yet, a numerical field showing the remaining BC value left until completion. Would make tech rushing a LOT easier.
Actually, I fixed it so that you can't use that cheese tactic anymore. 1 event per planet, regardless of how many times it is colonized.
Does this include frequent reloaders? "Colonization" had teeth like that. (though I did find a way to get around that too)
v1.05. The date in the upper-left RARELY matches the actual date of the game. This bug has appeared since I bought the game. Start a new game... say DONE on everything. Click TURN button. No date change. Did the turn take effect? I quit playing the game because of this bug! I NEVER know if my turn took effect or not. Sometimes the date lags behind the actual date. In other words, the date will change, but then you'll click somewhere in the window, and the date will change AGAIN... without
