Hope it is fixed in the full version, but I noticed in the demo that if you click the first couple of squares along a sector border it won't center on that sector (in regards to the little box that shows the levels of influence). You might be clicking on one of the first border squares in sector 2.2, but the infl box still shows secotr 2.1
Be evil and make everyone else evil because you KNOW in your brain of brain, your heart of hearts, that if it came to galactic domination, the evil would have a better chance
Not so. if your an evil empire, your reputation would end up preceeding you and cause massive alliances to stop you. Being good, for the most part, would cause other civs to want to be part of the big picture as there is strength in numbers. And I just don't see that in the game so far.

I said the same thing in "the age old battle" thread. However, my experience has beed only with the demo at this point (35% done on the FV :D ). I am looking forward to trying out both ways one the full version. but it does SEEM like evil is unbalanced. Even with the demo, playing an evil empire, I was able to have trade relations with neutral empires. What I did find funny, was in the last game. I was trying to make all the good choices, and the sainty Alterians (sp?) were really

Well, as the game says, and metaverse shows.... the universe in not a tidy place LOL But fromwhat Ihave read, a good cleaning would be in order. 6mo old no-subs should be nixed. Another thing that might be a problem, is having to be connected to the net to get your game submitted. barring saving your game prior to the last turn would cause a lot of ppl to not submit. As is the cornicopia of nic/addys/names/ect that is required to submit. Certainly not a good indicator of game popular

LOL, yeah, she knows my propensity for TBS games. She like solitare and hearts, had to teach her freecell. gonna start her on a simple resource game, then hook her with more indepth games. She don't mind me spending hours on the computer playing games, because I make her go.........."WAHOO!!!" and OMFG!!!! ;) (EVIL GRIN) Thanks for the blessings. :HOT: No, I couldn't find it locally. It was sold out. The empty slot was next to the 15 unsold copies of MoO3 for <$20...... bes

2% done with the full version download, and only an estimated 36 hrs left. Gotta love dial-up. Getting married next thursday. I wonder if it will be done before that. so......DL a 465 MB game over dial up 2 days before getting married. (insanity indeed) Talk about mega-maso difficulity level. lmao (this pointless thread brought to you by your not-so-local arm-chair general)

well crud. plz explain this. download only $44.95 download with cd: $44.95 Why the talk about an extra $5 for the CD? Looks like the same price to me. (unless it is added past the initial choice screen.) I would like nothing more than to see SD get the lions share of the profits, but this game can readily be bought elseware ;) for around $30-$35. That is one of the reasons I hesitate on buying directly from companies. Even though the market drops (considering time

And that is exactly my point. I had read your thread before posting this one. If there was a bit more icing on the good cake, you would see more pure good games. Likewise the attraction towards evil would diminish. One other quick question. You build a trade good.........then what? Do they realy have any value beyon what they give your empire? What do you usually trade them for, or trade for them (when another empire has one)? thx.

No, I am not talking about who does the dishes. LOL Good VS Evil. IMO, your good/neutral/evil choice should have two effects. Otherwise, it appears that trying to always make the good alingment choice are very disadvantaged. It seems that choosing the good always has only negative effects. A player should get something for being nice other than a penalty. The way it is: You found 500 lost Edsels on this planet, do you want to: Restore them and have a parade: -10% econ

One of the reason I asked about the difference between the two, Is I see places where there could be some improvement made (not a complaint, just observations). I have read some of the disputes with "nothing" and the waste involved. What if "nothing" was made to produce "something". Meaning 1 IU or SU produces .5 or .25 cash. IE: 4 industrial units produces 2 cash (rounded down of course). There might be a better benefit already in place, but not clearly stated. Not sure how curren

First off, let me start by saying thank you for having a demo. Also, being a 56k user the size is fine and have no problems regarding the limits of it. 1> Demo VS Full: Not including the features excluded in the demo (race picks, ect.), What things have been improved between the two? 2> What is the max capacity of transports and colony ships? 3> When invading a system, what ratio of troops VS population is a good idea? I dropped 500M troops on a 2.1B planet and got s
In the start up screen, look at what the different political parties do. Pick the one with good morale and good econmy to start. At this point dont bother with trying to allocate points to other gameplay enhancements.
erm, in the demo you can't make those picks. What I HAVE found out, is in playing the demo that the easiest way to get the upper hand is explode in tech. I concentrated tech efforts (100%, after a couple of initial colony ships as needed) first on

I only have the demo right now, and had a single crash event like that (flicker/desktop/no info). In mine, I had reloaded a save (non-autosave iirc), changed my planets to auto-launch ships, hit end turn and it crashed. I reloaded the save, made the same changes and it did not repeat. Don't know if that helps, but if it is deep enough in the prog that it can occur with the demo, then perhaps this will help narrow down the possible places to look for it. Win XP (home) AMD XP 1700<

Thank you. At least I had a little bit of foresight. How unusual. lol. the other curiosity I have is regarding the metaverse. It there detailed information in the manual about what it is, how it works, what the different color regions on the map are, ect..? Or is it a dead horse. I am intrigued with galciv. I love the TBS genre, dislike most rts games, and find it annoying that it is so hard to find any tbs game, let alone one of quality. I currently am debating if I shou

New to the board. Have not bought the game yet. I read something about a code on the back of the CD case that is required for certain website items. (registration code). The game is available "used" on Amazon. Will buying this game used cause registration conflicts, and/or cause problems with current available updates and future patches, ect.?
