You could also move those tiles at the bottom to a new page. In 1.25 you can now use the scroll wheel to scroll through pages. If you make the start menu height smaller to hide those tiles, you will still have to scroll down to see them. Either way you are going to have to scroll. For me, scrolling to the next page(s) is my preference.

That is how transparency works. You see through the Start11 menu to what's beneath it. If there is white beneath it you see light-gray; if there is blue beneath it you see blue-gray; and if there is black beneath it you see black. If you want a light gray Start11 menu background, you will have to set the color to a gray you like and set Transparency to 100% solid.

I wanted to add that this issue is not affecting other Office 365 apps. I have tested Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Outlook.
After testing, I can confirm that Groupy is indeed causing the inability to change printers in Excel. I opened Groupy and turned it off. I then opened an Excel spreadsheet that I knew would require changing the printer from the default to my wide format printer. I was able to change the printer in the print dialog box without issue. I opened Groupy and turned it back on. I then opened another Excel spreadsheet which would require changing the printer and it would not work unti

At 45% transparency with the start menu over a white background it is going to look gray. You can see in your screenshot; it looks black over the dark settings window and gray over the white area. You will have to apply a transparency of at least 75% solid to get the effect you are trying to achieve. Just play around with it until you like it.
Try turning off "Let Start11 check for updates automatically."
This sounds like it could be a display scaling issue. What display scaling are you using if any?

Open the Start11 configuration app. Make sure the "Show the Windows menu when I Ctrl-click the Start button" is turned on. Now when you hold down the Ctrl key and click the Start button, the Windows 11 Start menu will open.
Can you pin it to the Windows 11 Start menu? And if so, does it work when you click on it?
Try this and see if it works: 1) Create a shortcut of this file. 2) Place this shortcut in "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs" 3) Restart Windows Explorer. 4) Open the Start11 Start Menu and go to All Apps 5) Right click on the shortcut created above and select "Pin to Start11" Hope this works for you.

Why not use the Start Menu? The Start 11 Start Menu provides super organizational options including groups, pages, etc. I know, it’s one more click of the mouse button, but worth it for the organization. I used to keep all my frequent apps on the taskbar, but once I started using the Start Menu, I never went back! Give it a try, you might find you like it.
