You could also make your taskbar darker in Start11 so the white text displays better.
Set the size smaller here.
I believe the font color in the Start menu is controlled dynamically by the operating system. Depending on the color of the Start menu background, the font color is either white or black. If you have a dark background the text is white, and if you have a light background the text is black. I'm not sure if there are registry settings that could be tweaked to achieve what you are asking for, but maybe Neil or Sean would know.
If you don't have a copy of the Start10 installer, login to your account and go to "My Downloads" and download the current installer. Once you have the installer on your laptop, click to install and then reboot. Once you have rebooted, you should be able to open Start10 and set it up the way you had it before.
Add a custom toolbar
Start11 doesn't allow the creation of toolbars yet. Maybe they will include this at a later date. As a workaround, if you are using the Windows 10 or 11 styles, you could create a new page and pin the files and folders you keep in your taskbar folder to that page. Once you have created the page and pinned your files, you can organize those files and folders into groups and then name the groups. Start11 ver. 1.25 allows you to use

In the original post, this is the icon for SelfCert.exe; an application that has been a part of Office for many generations. The app is used to digitally sign a macro project in Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Visio, Outlook, or Word. It's really strange that Start11 is picking up this icon for the Office apps instead of the correct app icon. I'm running Start11 ver. 1.25 on both a Wi
Yeah, it's a compromise. I really want the color to be consistent, but have a shadow of the background seen through it.
Try setting the background color to RGB 180 180 180 and the transparency to 99% solid. I think this is the best you are going to get.
You could also move those tiles at the bottom to a new page. In 1.25 you can now use the scroll wheel to scroll through pages. If you make the start menu height smaller to hide those tiles, you will still have to scroll down to see them. Either way you are going to have to scroll. For me, scrolling to the next page(s) is my preference.

That is how transparency works. You see through the Start11 menu to what's beneath it. If there is white beneath it you see light-gray; if there is blue beneath it you see blue-gray; and if there is black beneath it you see black. If you want a light gray Start11 menu background, you will have to set the color to a gray you like and set Transparency to 100% solid.
Okay, to summarize: * Groupy 1.5 seems to be affecting the Microsoft Excel print dialog preventing changing the printer in the drop down. * We know this is happening on both Windows 10 build 19044.1862 and Windows 11 (Build 22622.436). * We know it doesn't matter if Excel is listed <span style="background-color: #fdfdfd; font-size:
But recently i just found out that disabling Groupy fixed the "unable to choose other printer"
This is a great find! How did you figure this out? I have been dealing with this issue for at least a year or two.
I wanted to add that this issue is not affecting other Office 365 apps. I have tested Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Outlook.
After testing, I can confirm that Groupy is indeed causing the inability to change printers in Excel. I opened Groupy and turned it off. I then opened an Excel spreadsheet that I knew would require changing the printer from the default to my wide format printer. I was able to change the printer in the print dialog box without issue. I opened Groupy and turned it back on. I then opened another Excel spreadsheet which would require changing the printer and it would not work unti
I also have this issue with Excel. I have always thought it was just a bug with Excel. I already had Excel added to the "Application exclusions," so that doesn't seem to help. I will test this theory and report back. Windows 10 build 19044.1862; Groupy ver. 1.5
At 45% transparency with the start menu over a white background it is going to look gray. You can see in your screenshot; it looks black over the dark settings window and gray over the white area. You will have to apply a transparency of at least 75% solid to get the effect you are trying to achieve. Just play around with it until you like it.
Try turning off "Let Start11 check for updates automatically."
This sounds like it could be a display scaling issue. What display scaling are you using if any?

Just a suggestion... I have noticed that very frequently the first response to an inquiry requires asking for the Windows version and the Stardock software version. You could add a phrase like "Please include the Windows version & build# along with the Stardock software version in all posts." at the top of the page by the "New Topic" button. or/ You could add something like this as a header in the new post box where you type in your query.
yes the app starts when i left click on the shortcut pinned to the Windows start menu.
That's good news! So it should work in Start11 unless there is some reason it doesn't understand the file type as an executible. After you copied the shortcut to the "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs" folder, and restarted File Explorer,
