You can always redownload the game if you have the serial number. I don't know about Stardock's policy, but I doubt they'd refuse to replace a defective disc if you contacted them about it. (Or maybe it's the publisher you should contact? Depends on who you bought the CD from, I guess.)
If it gets coded and works fine, it will get Stardock approval from me :)
Official Stardock approval for something that's sure to use dozens of copyrighted concepts/situations/images? I'm surprised you can even get away with hosting it on the site. ~SDC~

In about a month I'll be back on campus, and then I would be able to download all the games as fast as I need to. But... with classes, and homework, and other college related activities, when will I have time to play games? Bah. Something tells me that I'm going to wind up getting to school, subscribing to TGN, playing one game for a few hours a week, and downloading the rest to play next summer. ::sigh:: ~SDC~

I don't see any mention of GalCiv Writer in the threads new enough to be visible on Stardock Central, so in case that's all you're looking for, you can find it here: http://www.diplomats-empire.com/writer/writer_004.htm . If you don't feel comfortable with a program marked as an alpha test you can still download the old version from http://www.ctuit.com/bill/galciv.htm . The old version doesn't recognize the Mods folder (because the last update was before that was added to the game), but the m
Creativity improves the chances of the 'Unknown' anomaly type giving you a research boost.
I doubt that, actually. Look at the .anomaly file. There are two different research anomalies: one that gives a 25% bonus to research and the "phenomenal advancements" message, and another one that gives a 0% bonus and the "waste of time" message. I would bet that the game decides which one it is when the anomaly is generated and doesn't care which race collects it or what their

Let's see what we have here in the old mods directory... There's all the mods I've submitted to the library, of course. Except for one. An anomaly that increases ship speed by one move (Slipstream in the library, but the Power has to be changed to 10. for it to work, because of the way the Speed ability works). A whole bunch of .event files, with only one event in each of them. Enhanced Terraforming and NanoTechnology. Everything in the library by Nand1, except for the AP stuff. Instanton
Perhaps an Alliance win should be after they have achieved a stable alliance for sometime.
Pointless change, since the AI never breaks an alliance and a human wouldn't cost himself the win by breaking it unless he was going for the higher Military score. There's some strong potential for cheese right there, too. ~SDC~

"While not the most advanced form of life we've seen, these planetary worms seem to congregate in small scattered colonies and can communicate through seismic vibrations in the soil they are rooted in." Landing on a planet inhabited by a race of primative but apparently intelligent lifeforms and exterminating them so that you can use their home for farmland is evil. In your analogy the worms are invading your planet. In the game, it's the other way around. ~SDC~

There's only one way to find out: change the bookend to a number greater than 140 and see if it works. ~SDC~

I made a ship that used the Space Shark model once. It got up to "Next turn" and never finished building. Me thinks that we weren't ment to be able to use the Space Shark model for ships. ~SDC~
Update: I'm still having no luck, the intro movies play in a window but then it dumps back into fullscreen. I'm running at 1024*768 @ 16bit color.
Are you sure you're not in windowed mode? The window size is exactly 1024x768. The only difference with that resolution is the Alt-Tab performance. ~SDC~
