I've started this up again with the idea of it being a Quest Wizard, meaning it will guide you through making a quest, instead of just an editor. We'll see. I'll post screenshots and an alpha to try soon.
Murteas
Lizardmen would be great. I can see them as my new favorite. Just a note of thanks: I am loving (!!!) my current game as the Centaurs. I have been casting Tornado (air spell) all over the place to defeat the stupid hoarder spiders and troll groups that are going crazy out of the wildlands and have a big battle going on with the Elves & Living Stone (battle of expansion, not swords, yet :) ). The Elves even took a wildland
+1 on this. Also, make it show the modded banners we add as well. :)
Here is a sample .xsd class based on a few quests and random events (which are also quests). I've also generated a C# file from it. Hope it helps. I am going to make a Quest "Wizard" in the near future and this is my start, but if someone else wants to make a run at it here is a good place to start. Stardock Employees feel free to give us hints/corrections if we have missed something. Thanks! &nbs
I have to agree. Definitely need the ability to see where the resource was.
Quoting Murteas, reply 41Sure, I can upload the source. The challenge is going to be getting a good schema for the quest xml. There isn't one currently available, but maybe we can persuade Stardock to generate one. I worked on this last in Early February. Currently I have this checked in to an svn repository on assembla. If you have an account there I can share it with you if you want to keep it in a common place
quoting postIf I had some .NET developers handy, I’d ask them to make a proper editor

I also have the code (which doesn't actually write XML yet), but I am willing to help with the editor or give advice if someone else wants to pick it up. Here is the code so far if anyone wants to try it out: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12727985/Mods/Quest%20Editor.zip<br /
So I made a faction editor before there was a faction editor (back before EWOM), and I still have it in the mod section. However, I have started and stopped on a quest editor several times. here is a screenshot of the latest version: I also have the code (which doesn't actually write XML yet), but I am willing to help with the editor or give advice if someone
This would be great! +1
Quoting GFireflyE, reply 1 I've never trusted autoselect (or automove) in any game. can add auto combat to that list aswell. Nothing personal against stardock, and I hope they can prove me wrong; just am OCD about managing my troops. Yes auto turn sucks because you dont get warnings when your cities stop building but autoturn was very useful to save having to search and click everywhere f
You can currently edit the xml to change the sovereign. I agree there should be a way in game to do this, but I am saying that in the short term you can make changes if you want.
I have seen this as well. Can be fixed, by moving the hero out of the unit and then back in or vice versa.
I created several logos here: https://forums.elementalgame.com/423899 if anyone is interested. If you look farther down in the thread I've made a few that were used in the Expanded Factions Mod. Enjoy.
Notice that other "monsters" have a higher intelligence. There must be some minimum level before they will aggressively go attack people. Try setting it to 5 or 6.
Ok well just modded my game, I tried putting in 200 but when i got in game it cost 600 to create the pioneer. I realized that putting in 200 in the txt file would multiply by amount of men so I changed it to 50 ( which means it will cost 150 gold to build a pioneer) as that is a nice rounded number, otherwise it would be a weird number since you cant get exactly 200 if multiplying by 3. I will see how my game goes.
</p
I'm interested in how this works out. Will this give the pariden spell too much power when they can "spam" outposts with magic?
I play large for my fun games (so most of the post release games will be this). for testing now, I play small or medium.
blame the memory limits of 32 bit OSes
What if it took so much gold to settle a new city (50 gold or 100 gold)?
It is completely stand alone. No need to get War of Magic first. Definitely worth the purchase in my opinion. In any case, welcome to the community.
Confirm that Inspiration doesn't update.
The cloth map graphical updates look good. I like that you are working on starting position. I will usually play whatever position I get unless I get something absolutely worthless. Then it is a Ctrl-N fest until I see what I like :)
I would suggest getting FE right now. The beta is pretty fun to play already and we are going to get beta 4 in a few weeks. FE beta > EWOM 1.4 in my opinion although EWOM is pretty fun at it's current version. Good luck and welcome to the community.
I'm guessing the possibility of actually getting an answer is low, but I assume you're not implementing DX10/11 on this title. Any idea if it'll be in the next one?
I think they have talked about this, but they won't move to DX10+ until they can drop Win XP support. I assume they are anxious to move to 64 bit and DX 10/11 as that will solve alot of the performance/memory issues they've s
You're misrepresenting quite a bit of stuff there GFireflyE. You are free to dislike steam and not use them, but just because someone disagrees with you doesn't me they are "profiting from it". You should give steam another chance. Offline mode works fine for several games, and you can choose to not auto-update most games. The games that require online always drm are few and they would be that way regardless of steam.
