Has anyone looked at http://kuler.adobe.com/ from adobe. I am experimenting with using their service to create color schemes in the elemental faction editor. so that the colors go together well (no more flourescent pink with brown & lime green highlights). Tell me if that is of interest to anyone, and I will upload it. I realize most people have moved on to use the in-game editor (which is great), but I stil

Excellent! Thank you! Just a quick question, did you ever get Frogboy's quest to actually work? I can't even get it to work in my game. The reason I ask is that if that is the new quest format, we probably want to convert to that format. Anyway, this is great information. I want to make some quests/random events and submit them as mods (or as part of your ACP mod).

Great. I like it. I find it much more compelling to raze a town now to replace it with my own. What do you think about making some sort of penalty to resource buildings (shards, gold mines, etc), when you have the town. Or potentially to force the player to garrison the town to prevent rebellion. Perhaps another idea would to make the population shrink over time. Just throwing out ideas.

I'm definitely interested. I just find myself waiting until 1.1 just to see what changes. I realize that is probably discouraging to modders and others, but I have a feeling that most of us are waiting before playing. That said, I am very impressed by your work Heavenfall. Great Job on all your mods.

I've been looking at this, but to be honest, it is hard to start a project when you don't know what the correct schema/format for quests are. We are close to having something work, but right now it is hard to code something that you are guessing at. In any case, I don't think we've given up, but are just waiting...:) I have been working on random events (i.e. events that happen when cities reach a certain population, wealth, et

I'm sorry for bumping an old thread, but I am having the same problem. Perhaps I am misunderstanding what I need to do. I notice that the size of several of the themes is significantly smaller than the size of the stardock provided ones for instance. I assume this means that several of the pieces are not included in the theme. (Isn't that point of a theme though?) Anyway, assuming I download all the pieces of a theme (from the links provided in the theme post)

I am looking at some of the UI files to see what I can mod. I have Desktop X builder and can open the UI files, but I am a little confused at where to start my changing. Anyone a desktop X expert that wants to point me to a good tutorial to get my feet wet with modding Desktop x widgets?

Hmm...I decided to go ahead an purchase WBC3, but it crashes constantly for me. I can't play even for 2-3 mins without a CTD. I've sent an e-mail to SD to see if they can help, but my recommendation is that Win 7 64bit is not a compatible OS with WBC3 :(

Nostalgia, I suppose. However, it does have a lot of customization for the Hero, and you get to keep units from game to game. The different races play differently (not all are balanced). It just is fun! Nothing special just a good rts before rts became so abundant.

Brad, I've got to say. I love SD because of how you guys handle your customer interaction. Being a software developer, I actually love seeing the software evolve and mature (not that I wouldn't have preferred a resounding successful launch for Elemental), so I for one am in it for the long haul, and I appreciate your openess and truly wish the best for SD & Elemental.

RavenX, I think this one will be good as well. It is a simul-release for PS3 & PC though, so I am a little concerned about the "simplified controls" that some of the previews talk about. In any case, this one is on my list to check out.
A bit off topic I guess but since it was mentioned...doesn't the absense of a demo help facilitate/encourage pirating because people want to see what it is all about? Stardock has gone a long way to show their faith in their customers (that's a good thing) but the lack of a demo also seems to cause undue temptation for others. I do not think my statement can be proven but it occured to me as I was reading this thread.

Now, fast forward to now. Now it's relatively easy to add new types of resources and I can get in the concept of specialists which are essentially your population -- every 10th citizen can be a specialist which you can then be used to have a merchant (instead of using food) or a study (instead of it costing gold) and so on. Right now, the ONLY resource I have to work with that doesn't "store" per turn is food whi
Yes you are dumb... to release this game while not taking beta tests....
??? What! I was in the beta test for about 1 year. Trust me when I say that the game changed extensively in that time for the better. yes, there are some problems that need to be fixed, but if there was no beta test, the game would have been very different (and not in a good way). Look at the dev journals first. <p
