Yeah, I definitely checked out the Pangaea site the other day but its not communicating to us at the moment. Oh well.

Well, I refreshed the empire data and we squeezed in front again by a few hundred points to make it back to 17th! Well done! Its a tough and competitive Metaverse out there! :)
I've not installed any mods yet (official or unofficial) but your friendly, smart and welcoming site makes me feel braver about doing it :)
I've set the slave robots you sent me to work on the manufacturing the requested components. I cant wait to see the overall plan develop.
We've just squeezed past into 17th Empire by a mere few hundred points! :)
I await my directions and orders in this movment towards universal pleasure with eager anticipation :)
No, no he's really a car! :D
Wow! I clicked on my name and it even made me a cup of tea! :CONGRAT:
"Nope, he's right. Let's lobby for round screens." And then we can work in cylindrical coordinates rather than Cartesian? ;)
I think we are only dealing with 1 galaxy containing star clusters. If we consider our own Milky Way Galaxy, we are dealing primarily with a disc (leaving aside the central bulge) that has a diameter of about 20,000 p.c. and thickness of around 1,000. So for a typical 20x20 (x-y) game grid you'd only need 1 cube in the z-direction. Enough to be confusing but not to add much to the game. Collapsing to 2-D isn't a bad choice then. However, we really should be in a circular 2-D Galaxy. ;) <br
Kevin Evans was born in 2140 the heir to the Interstellar Trading Corporation fortune. It rapidly became apparent that he was something of a prodigy and he went on to become the youngest person to achieve a Ph.D. from Cambridge University in Xeno Biology. His thesis concentrated on comparative genetics showing the remarkable similarity between the DNA/RNA processes of all the known sentient species. While at university, he was influenced by the Pangaeanist phi
Can I complain that the Galaxy is also square and not circular at this point? ;)
You've got me into your blog group now but I dont seem able to get my blog to show up as a featured article in pangaea.
I've applied and it said it was contacting you for approval :(
OK it was under site information then more information and you can click an apply link there. :)
OK http://kevintkitten.joeuser.com now exists but I'm not sure how to join the pangaea blog group. :notsure:
There is a thread for Empire websites which someone is accommodating under galciv.org that we might take advantage of. I'm not sure my creative writing is up to much more than providing my background story, but I shall start a blog if I am struck with inspiration.
I'm working hard, but with the square root of the number of games factor I'm only adding about 2k per game :( If only I could survive on challenging I might score more! :D Still, if I keep submitting at this rate I might make the Admiralty before Christmas! :CONGRAT:
Thanks for the tips. :)
Well, that game now means there is only 8k separating 16 to 20 in the Empire rankings. Unfortunately, I'm only managing to add about 2k per submission at the moment. I think the tweaks mean you have to trade with the majors now or they get more unhappy with you faster so i'm having to adjust my tactics. I may need to take a break to recharge my GalCiv batteries but I'll try to keep us up with the competition. Have fun in RL! :)
Not a bug, Kevin, just annoying. Remember that you can build a starbase ANYWHERE by just double-clicking on the constructor, and selecting "Plant Starbase." The AI can - and often does - build a ton of tiny starbases all over the place, although the Arceans are the usual culprit.
Oh Right! I didnt know that but it opens up some handy possibilities when I've missed out on resources. :) Thanks.
Who mentioned maso? I'm still on normal/challenging! :)
I was thinking it had gotten harder. I used to concentrate on cultural improvement and flipping but now the AI's keep declaring war on my weak military! :(
I'm glad its not just me the aliens are picking on. My strategy until now has been to make friends with the aliens, reasearch and build hard and rely on culture flipping. Now someone always seems to see that I have a weak military and decide that I'm ripe for extermination. They appear to be decidedly more aggressive.
I dont have any problem with the minors expanding a bit more into the galaxy but they seem to build all the galaxy wonders and trade goods before I've had a chance to even research the technology. I'm wondering if I shouldn't be downgraded to a minor instead! :)
