Thanks for this. I'm a struggling Newbie still and get squashed very quickly: so a true Newbie question. When you describe cities "Atlanta was settled on a 3/2/-, Boston on a 2/4/1 tile" what are those numbers referring to? I presume some sort of resources but which is which? :meow:

I've been wondering too but I guess its still on "the Heap" awaiting spare hands to deal with it. (:( KK
You have to worry when the Dregin pops up after you've clicked on the BF2142 icon and says "I'm sorry Brad, you've been spending too much time with that application: I'm afraid it had to die. You're going to spend this evening with me!"
I have Civ IV and love it. Been playing warlords which adds more civs to play as but the only real gameplay tweak is that a state can become your vassal rather than forcing you to capture all of its cities. I've also just picked up CivCity.
A rift in the space-time continuum would be my guess
Looks more like plain C to me.
Build a freighter and send it to an alien controlled world and you'll have a trade route set up. The further away it is the more money you make. It also improves your relationship with that civ.
But, but....aren't you an IT guy Brad?
I've always thought they were a little too smug and "goody goody" and deserved to be conquered.
I suspect Mr. Shatner's fee would be larger thanthe entire development budget!
All hail to the CariElf. Here is my offering of Mountain Dew.
Not strictly on topic for this thread but just wanted to say how impressed I was with the amount of stuff now available on TGN. I've been looking the other way at BF2, CivIV and GC2 lately and when I came back to SDC I found my games tab full of new choices. Guess you've been working hard.
Or we can download ships from the library to fill in the gaps of new ships becoming available in the tech tree.
And the road plan of the capital Washington DC looks like a capital A......OK I just made that up
Do you have a spamblocker set to only accept certain email addresses? Stardock sales has always exceeding my expectations.
Yeah and you also get a free woman with it!
Poor, gentle?.....*cough* Yor *cough*...... I need a stupid AI...I get thrashed even on Normal!
I'm quite torn about this game: it looks great and will suck me in but I had to stop playing the Sims because I got too attached to them and worried about them losing friends and jobs...How could I ever send my socians off to war?
What an excellent resource! My only real irritation with the game has been trying to figure out what I needed to do on the tech tree to get the improvement/ship etc I wanted. Thanks.
What about the good GNN robot? She looks cute....
We are the Snathi and we hear that you have a supply of nuts on your homeworld...prepare for invasion.
Wow! If that was your development budget for GC1, you must have persuaded CariElf to work for nothing more than a supply of Mountain Dew! Perhaps you could afford to give her a raise and throw in a Twinky?
Perhaps they could tie the trading system to espionage so that when you reached a certain espionage level on a civilization you would get a GNN pop-up telling you whenever they made a trade agreement with someone. Then the AI would have an excuse if it found you were trading away all its techs to say "Sorry, but you seem to have given Laser III to the Drengin and we are at war with them. You're not getting any more technology from us!"
I think that thread overstates its case with such a polemical title but some of the ideas there seem worth considering as improvements such as uprating the value the AI places on its unique techs. On the economics idea: why not just decouple the social/military/research sliders from each other and have them each indicate the percentage of each total capacity that you currently wish to use? All 3 at 100% gives maximum output and a huge budget deficit, all at 0% gives no output and a hu
I'm so ashamed! I actually am an astrophysicist and I didnt notice the moon orbiting in the wrong direction! Of course, it could just be that we were looking at it from the South polar direction.
