In stardock: Tools - check for application updates found it all for me and you could uncheck if you didn't want the older updates to redownload. Sorry, you guys are having trouble. :(
Kevin the Kitten
I've just looked at the new 3-D style map layout linked off the main Galciv page (the map editor). I think it looks quite groovy. I was going to suggest that an isomorphic projection (I think that's the word) would allow you to have prettiers stars, planets etc. but you beat me to the idea. :CONGRAT:
Perhaps they have so few available, they judge it better just to get something in the air if they dont have time to build "good" ships?
Just noticed this in my last game... if I culture flipped and finished researching a tech on the same turn then I never got the chance to choose my next research target at the start of that turn. I ended up straight into the completed planetary production cycle. You can go to the tech tab in the menu bar if you remember though once you're done.
Do you have those naps where you remember doing weird stuff, but you don't know if you were dreaming or you really did it? And you're too embarrased to ask anyone because what you think you did was really, REALLY weird?
Last time I came back to the U.S. from home in the U.K., I was reading a book about aliens possessing peoples bodies and invading the galaxy. After a bad nights sleep before and none during the flights and connections I finally fell asleep in my apartment.
BTW fellow Pangaeanists, what Government type do you prefer? I have tended to stick to Universalists.
Well, I've also submitted a personal record score to move us just behind Arnor. That Huge map meant it took forever to get my party palaces into position though! In the end I could be bothered to try and culture flip the last Altarian world and just annihilated it :D Mwahahahaa. Perhaps we also need to keep advertising for more recruits to help us in our Metaverse quest.
Personally, I'd be happy if it had hard-coded cowardice and ran away from anyone who was a threat to it. Rather like workers in CivIII (if I dare mention my other favourite game ;-) )
Bad form to follow up my own post I know but I just thought I'd mention this. After the discussion on the subject in another thread, I decided that it wasn't worth submitting my losing scores. Given the way that they combine you effectively get less credit for a later score much nearer your normal level.
Comiserations on your loss. :( Are you starting again from scratch with a new game or do you have a save point to go back to? I've thought of a story line around my origins: I'll email it to you both once I've typed it up so you can incoporate it as you feel fit into the story of the cooperative.
Congratulations! Your first game score is higher than any I've managed in 15! Of course your next step is to come and join an empire like the Pangaea Cooperative. http://www.galciv.com/metaverse/empires.asp?id=506 :) [Message Edited]
Wow! That was hard work - just how does anyone win on maso even folloqing those tips from Cotal? Still i had a famous comback on my first "Normal" level game to win from being in last place at one point! :HOT:
Hurrah! We'll show them the Power of Party. ;) I've sent you an email now too.
Well, I nearly joined your empire purely on the grounds that it had a cute logo but the Pangaean philosophy of party palaces seduced me instead :) I'm sure you could come and join us though ;p KK
It sounds like you're someone who likes to develop their starbases with as much "influence" as possible. Come join us in the Pangaea Cooperative Empire where we specialise in converting with Party Palaces (backed up with Terror Stars). http://www.galciv.com/metaverse/empires.asp?id=506 KK [Message Edited]
I don't that is a bug. I'm pretty sure error 0 means no error.
That's probably true but I think it would look better if you got a message say "[un]successful submission" rather than some error flags. Just a thought. KK [Message Edited]
Hurray! Another personal record score :) but not much of a ratings boost for the Empire :( We need more recruits to convert the Metaverse to our partying philosophy!
Dame Eva Everage for Australian PM!
Hey! I'd vote Dame Edna for our PM - a more convincing alternative than any other to Bliar! :p And Les Patterson is currently the cultural attache to London. It would be a shame to lose him when he does so much to make us feel superior to Australian males, given that we lose every sporting encounter! :)
Hey! We've just sneaked passed Aldar...now its time to work on Arnor! KK [Message Edited]
Thanks for the ideas boss. :) I'm not totally convinced, though, since I had cultural domination of the galaxy to a point I would have expected a win. It wasn't until several more systems had flipped over to me that I got a military victory. In that extra time I built lots more economy boosting stuff and with my dominance had many turns of high output. I will look into your tips on morale boosting and keeping costs down though. I too generally only build news networks when the planet i
Yep. Turning off the cultural win option gave me many more turns of high economic output and boosted my score over 6000 for the first time. Now to try tweaking up the AI and see if I can repeat it for an even better score. :)
Note to all members of the Kingdom - the S8 should be here by this weekend
Talking to yourself again? ;)
Thanks for that tip - I shall turn of the cultural option and see if I can boost us above the Kingdom of Aldar! [Message Edited]
Thanks again. When I worked out what I thought the calculation must be it didn't have such subtlety! Now I just have to work out why I'm scoring less in each game and then I can take over the Metaverse! mwahahaha LOL
Of course guns don't kill people, its the bullets! As a new Paneanist, I heartily endorse Party Stars.
