If we shared the cost of health care for everyone, not make businesses shoulder all the costs; if the money we spend on health insurance instead was paid to taxes to cover health care for all, we'd all be better off. After all, we are all in this together. And certainly, why give these miserable tax breaks to the people who need them the least? I just cannot follow the logic (or lack thereof). We should pay for eachother's health care because we're

Wow! I really started something. Interestingly enough, many of the environmental and health laws were initiated by Republicans. However, for some bizarro reason, the Republicans have abandoned all good sense and morality, and are trying to dismantle all those good laws. Market forces, my ass. It's having the fox watch the chicken coop. If you trust corporate greed to regulate its own emissions, have I got a bridge to sell you. The "Clear Skies I
Thank you, COL Gene. It seems like in every post of yours, you mention that book. It must be a goody, so I'll check it out. But, why are you promoting that one book exclusively? There are a host of books out these days that document the horrific escapades of this Dubya administration. Why this book in particular?
When I first read this, I thought you said "pointer". I'm a dog lover, and as I read on, feeling very, very sad for you, I thought to myself, "What the hell is she talking about?" Ohhhhhhhhh.............. printer............. never mind. OL My condolences, anyway. <img src="../images/smiles/smile.gif" bo
Yesseree, Bob. Or, Joe. Or whatever. The politics are heating up here, and that's a good thing. Good open discourse is good. Discussion of issues is good. I noticed that there is a link at the bottom of the home page to contribute to the RNC. How 'bout a link to the DNC, also? How about making this a site wherein all sides are welcome? What do you say, Joe? Errr..... I mean, Brad?
I tried to insert breaks, but it just wouldn't happen. I agree. Breaks are critical. Go to the link at the bottom of the page. The article is there. Again.... http://www.thismodernworld.com/
"A DAY IN THE LIFE OF JOE REPUBLICAN" Joe gets up at 6 a.m. and fills his coffeepot with water to prepare his morning coffee. The water is clean and good because some tree-hugging liberal fought for minimum water-quality standards. With his first swallow of water, he takes his daily medication. His medications are safe to take because some stupid commie liberal fought to ensure their safety and that they work as advertised. All but $10 of his medications are paid for by his employer's
I never said that the debates shouldn't happen; that they are not important. They are very important, critically important, given that this country is so split, and there is such a narrow margin that will make up their minds based on the debates. What I did say is that the debates won't change MY mind. I am completely, thoroughly convinced that we need a regime change.. Period. As for Halliberton........ this administration is packed with
The debates aren't going to change my mind at all, though I won't miss them for anything. Nothing Bush says has any merit, as far as I'm concerned. It's not what he says, afterall. It's what he's DONE. He's driven this country down into the worst deficits in American history, taken us into a shady-dealing and costly war, while at the same time, giving the biggest tax cuts in history, which only benefit the rich. He's plundered the environment, blu

"Would Iraq be better off today if it was in the control of Saddam Hussein?" - Most Iraqis believe that life was much better before the Americans decided to "fix" things. Fact is, we squandered our good will by not spending the money to rebuild Iraq even though Bush promised the US would do so. And, instead of hiring Iraqis to rebuild the country, they gave all the lucrative contracts to Halburton and other US companies. The Iragis are mostly un
Thanks, Koasati. I checked on Xmantic's site, and apparently .png is an acceptable format. However, when I reworked and converted my graphic to a .png, Sysmetrix wouldn't recognize the format. Maybe tonight, I'll try again. Before you ask, yes I do have the latest build of Sysmetrix. I'm thinking that you cannot mix .bmp and .png formats in one skin. I dunno....... I really want to figure this out, because it really opens up a lot of possibilities, obviously. <A HREF="htt
Well, it didn't post. Try this link http://www.pbase.com/di/image/34271906
I'm hoping this image gets posted correctly here. If it does....... I just learned about the magic pink method of creating transparency (thank you, Latin, for your post on the wstaylor site). But, is there an easy way to eliminate the pink edging? Is it that my original image wasn't of a high enough resolution? Input would be helpful. BTW, this sysmetrix theme, a minimal meter object
"If Kerry is a flip-flop does that make Bush a flop? …" ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!! He's a disaster, a cheat, a liar, a theif and plain ol' stupid. His policies are a complete failure.
For the life of me, I cannot understand how anyone can support Dubya. I don't mean to start a nasty debate, but I'm just baffled over this. I just truly believe in my heart that if people stopped what they're doing, listened to both sides of the issues with equal interest and concern, they'd see what's at stake here. They'd understand why Bush is leading this coun
Right click on the widget, and click on "autorun" So simple..... the developers thought of everything.
What are you guys talking about? Is there a new version of OB coming out? I've been asking about that. Is there? Is there? OB is one program I really want to learn how to skin. Come on, guys........ Is that what your talking about? Sorry, I'm rambling. It's late. I'm tired. And, I'm wishing....... <A HREF="https://www.wincustomize.com/index.asp?Cmd=full&NewsID=913
http://dabe.wincustomize.com/index.aspx?SID=4309 Welcome to Dabe's Site BTW, instead of just this thread, are the WC folks planning to put together a member directory? That would be nice, instead of switching back and forth between programs. Just a thought....... <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smi
Thank you, Journeyman! I've been a fan of Steve Gibson for years. But, I also haven't been to his site in years. I knew nothing about the Three Musketeers. I installed and ran them all. I feel so much better. I also ran Shields Up for the hell of it (I have ZA Pro), and I am indeed running in full stealth mode. I feel wayyyyy much better. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/joke.gi
Ohhhhhhh....... That would make sense. I thought the gust was the peak speed of the wind, whereas wind speed is the sustained wind. Thank you, Wicked.
And, I meant to post this one to the General discussion section also.
So, tell me why this is, cuz it doesn't make sense to me...... My Symetrix weather is scrolling the wind speed, which states: "28 mph with 24 mph gusts" The gusts are slower than the wind speed. Huh??? <img s
Koasati, I'm not sure who to report this to, but that nasty OD+ bug that keeps causing it to exit........ Well, there is something about Mozilla Thunderbird. If I'm reading my mail, then shut down either a message, or the program itself, it's a sure bet that OD+ will also shut down. I've tried this over and over, and sho'nuff, every time it's the same thing. I don't know if that is specific to my computer, or if it's Thunderbird, but I'm hoping it will be useful to the developers. L
I just changed my desktop for the gazzilionth time. #30 message
