Nasty lil' bug. Glad to hear they're working on it. I cannot do away with MS start bar until that's fixed, unless I use another program, as well, like OB. When I reinstalled OD, I immediately upgraded to the latest build, via SDC, before I made any themes. I didn't want to go throught the whole shebang all over again. And, I'm glad I saved the icon folders before uninstalling. I would have lost a ton of already downloaded icons and themes. Thanks for the heads up. <img src="http:

OK, my next problem with OD+ Now that I've got it saving themes, it just continually, for no apparent reason, shuts itself down. I'll run it again, then go about doing something else (surfing, etc.), go back to access a tab, and it GONE. Shut down. Yet another frustration........ Any ideas? Koasati? Anyone? <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/notsure.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmid
Essencay, for starters, I had not uninstalled the free OD. But, I did uninstall everything, then rebooted, and reinstalled OD+. I think I've got it all sorted out. Now that it's working, I'm setting it all up again. I'm having fun. Very cool program!
Essencay, I'm not shutting down my computer. Just shutting down OD. Also, I did check my themes folder, and all the themes I created are listed there, including test and test2. And, the Theme loader in the program itself, does list all the themes. But, if I load any theme at all, I get an empty theme, with not a single dock listed in the My Themes dialog box. Of course, I have the option to create new docks, which I've done over and over and over. I've spent hours on this. I think I'm gon
I just bought OD+ yesterday, and I'm frustrated as hell. No matter what I do, I cannot save any dock themes. I've created tabbed docks, and regular docks and tabbed docks again. I have saved them upteen times. But, if I shut down OD, then run it again, my themes are gone. And that's that. This is getting old fast. I'm thinking maybe some kind of bug happened, and maybe I need to uninstall and reinstall. Any ideas? TIA <A HREF="https://www.wincustomize.com/index.asp?Cmd
I took the plunge this evening. I purchased OD+ It's very nice. Now, I'm going to figure out how to apply themes. I'm havin' fun.
THANK YOU! You both talked me right outta LS for now. Possibly, forever. That's the kind of info I need to read. I'm not really into hunkering down and reprogramming my 'puter.
Thanks, BlueDev. I guess that issue has been resolved, then. It definitely was a biggie when I was running docklets. Come payday, I think I'm gonna hafta spring for it.
Now, I'm looking at LiteStep. Judging from the themes, Jafo is a LS fan. Any thoughts, Jafo? I just registered at their website, so I can get a better look, though it does look less user-friendly, in that it's billed as more of a programmer's shell. I'm gonna try them all, I suppose. I did try NextStart when I first found WC/SDC, but I had no idea what I was doing. I'm wondering if they'll give me another 30 days to review the software. I also suppose that maybe I should be starti
So, I still have a question about OD+. Does it affect the CPU in any significant way? No one has yet commented on that. TIA
Koasati, if you have tried Nextstart, how is it different, or the same, as Hoverdesk? I was just at the Hoverdesk website, www.hoverdesk.net, and it seems to not have been updated since 2003. This is not a good sign. But, Nextstart is current, and it is skinned and displayed by WC/SDC. And, as I said, I'm just worried about OD+ because of the docklets, and CPU issues. Another thing.... are NS and HD more stable than DX? I really liked DX, but it's not what I'd call crash-proof.
I've been thinking about it also. But, I love ObjectBar, and OD Plus seems kind of redundant. I use OD for some stuff, which is redundant to OB, but OD is SO PRETTY. The other thing that makes me hesitate is that OD has a tendency to cause the CPU to go through the roof. Has that been resolved with Plus? Another thing - As much as I like OB, I've been eyeing Hoverdesk, or Nextstart.
Yikes!!!! Did I say left? I meant THE OTHER LEFT. The three K-TEK dock icons are on the right. sigh........
dabe - just curious where you found such nice dock icons for your various programs.. Kona, I found them all here. The three on the left - Firefox, Thunderbird and Wincustomize - are Tiggz' latest K-TEK internet dock icons. The Stardock is one of Jairo's, and others' whom I don't remember. There are so many good ones here, but sometimes it
WickedP, you are gooooood!!!!
Now I feel really stupid. Just for posting this. I found it. You have to export the favorites from IE first. Then import to Firefox. DOH Worked like a charm and it's done.
Frogboy, that is beautiful. But, I always hide my desktop icons, because they tend to clutter stuff up so fast. Maybe, I should rethink this. Beautiful. Really. Well done!!
Koasati, thanks for your reply, but I had already found that folder. I guess I should have been more clear. The Firefox program seems to be looking for a particular file, rather than the favorites folder itself. I would imagine that file would be the one that would migrate all my IE favorites to Firefox. I've been searching all over the Mozilla site, and I can't find anything. I guess I should post a message there. But, I figured maybe someone here would know, because a lot of people here
I am trying to import my Favorites folder from IE/Avant Browser to Firefox, but I cannot figure out which file it is. I've searched all over with Windows Explorer, but that program is eluding me. I feel so stupid. So, if anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd be eternally grateful. TIA <img src="http://im
If you go to OB properties, then to Theme Tools on the upper menu bar, then to Theme Options, in the Special Behavior box there's a check box that allows you to skin the bar using a WB theme. Very nice feature. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" ALT="Powered by SkinBrow
I was having lots of problems with DX. It's just kinda buggy, though I liked the program. My puter just isn't handling it well, cuz it's an old, old computer and I don't have the money right now to replace it. Anyway, I've switched to OB, and I love it! It's so stable, uses virtually no resources (whereas the later DX's were cranking my box to upwards of 60% CPU usage), and it can adapt to the WB skin. Like DX, you can suppress or include the task bar, etc....... So, when is OB2 co
That was it. I did have objectbar running, so I shut it down before I ended trayserver.exe just because you mentioned it. DX is now working just like it's supposed to. I'm happy.
Thanks, Koasati. I'll try it right now............
I have posted a message in the WC-General forum a few days ago, but didn't get a response. So, I'm trying again here, because I'm at wit's end. I could not update my DX to the newest version, so I chose to uninstall, then reinstall DX. I keep getting this message, "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Stardock\trayserver.exe 0 (32: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.) Result: Installation failed" I opened up the task manager, and there is a p
