Screwed up again All I did was update a few programs through SDC that appeared last night. Now, I cannot access the message boards, as it causes the entire program to just shut down. I'm writing this through the WC Browser. Also, the skins library is all screwed up again. I'm going to do the uninstall reboot, install, reboot thang again, but this is getting ridiculous. WHY IS THIS HAPPENING? Da

Landscape architect/park planner for the National Park Service, here in the USA. When I'm out in the boat, riding out to the island, and it's a beautiful day, I say to myself, "They actually pay me to do this." But then, I actually spend most of my time sitting at my computer, either writing or creating GIS (geographic information system) maps. I LOVE doing that, as well. It's the politics that I hate.
Gary, I finally got the opportunity to uninstall the browser and tray, and reinstall, etc. It seems to work great right now. I'm just hoping it stays that way. Yet again, thanks. One more thing..... I get a new message now when I open SDC. "Please make sure that you are launching Stardock Central from a shortcut to loader.exe rather than sdcentral.exe". I click OK, and SDC loads up. I don't know what this is about, but it seems to work anyway. <img src="http://images.stardock.co
That's what I Thought... Well, Gary, you sure got me pegged. But, I did have the latest SD tray installed. I just never used it. But, as you instructed, I refreshed the libraries. Nada. The skin libraries are still all screwed up. So, I'm waitin
CygnusXII, I am so sorry.
What and where is the tray component?
How 'bout some Passover skins?
I found Wincustomize from a link from the site http://www.majorgeeks.com/ That's a great site for finding new and updated program goodies. I wasn't even looking to reskin anything. It was not on my list of anythings. But, something about the program description caught my attention, I followed the link, downloaded the trial, and I've been hooked ever since. I have to admit though, I've always HATED the WinXP task bar and start bar. And, the options, gee...... olive or silver of that horrific
Gary, I've uninstalled, removed, rebooted, reinstalled, uninstalled....reinstalled, at least five times. Each time I do, SDC seems to work OK for a few minutes, then something goes cerfluey (sp). Usually, it's the Skins library, wherein OB seems to invade the other libraries, pushing out the other programs' themes. Kinda like a weed. Once, the discussion groups got screwed up, when there was little distinction between General or Help or Skinning, other than maybe the order of the posts, and
CignusXII, my overwhelming bout of life these days is that my boss, who is one of the most outstanding people I know was diagnosed with rather advanced kidney cancer three weeks ago. He had his kidney removed one week ago today, but the docs can't get him off the respirator. His blood oxygen keeps ping too low. So, a week later, he's still in ICU, heavily sedated, on the vent, and maybe only has a few months, of hopefull a few weeks of quality time to spend with his family. I've shed tears.
It's just a bloody big picture of a German Shepherd....with a dose of red-eye.... Yup, a bloody big picture of a GSD. But, er.... you must be colorblind. Da dawg'
Yeah, a bunch of SD program updates showed up, so I updated most of them. But, it never occurred to me to check for a WC browser through SDC. DOH!! All I did was look through the WC website. Anyway, I'll do the rest of the updating, including removing the SD temp files this evening, when I get home from work. It looks like that should really do it. Gary, what would I do without you? You da man!!!
Yes, I did the SDCentral folder, rebooted, then installed SDCentral again. But, where is there notice to update the WC Browser? I've looked all over, and I don't see it. As a matter of fact, my browser states that I have Version 1.29(b).002. If I go to the Browser download page, it says only Version 1.20. <img s
Well Gary, my understanding may be all well and good, but it really didn't help. I now have previews, mostly, but the libraries are screwed up. If I try to view CursorXP, for instance, I'll see a few Cursor XP skins, but mostly ObjectBar skins. Almost all the libraries are almost all filled with the same OB skins. I dunno. -sigh- <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="a
Some places don't let you link to images. Well, there ya go. Live and learn. I guess Pbase is one of those sites. Actually, I have to admit that I'm happy about that. It's one way that may protect the photos that are uploaded to that site, suppose. <img src

The last time. And, if this works, I will have finally, finally learned. If not...... well...... anyway......
just go here http://www.pbase.com/image/19042114/original Sheesh.........
They are on a website. I'm wondering if I need to point to the original image size, instead of the smaller version that pbase gives a viewer the option of looking at. I didn't want to link the large image cuz it's Large. I'll just try one, and see if that works. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN=
Well, as long as we're showin' photos, here's my Zuki And, Willie Bot and Zinkadoodle Dabe (hopin' this works) <A HREF="https://www.wincustomize.com/index.asp?Cmd=full&New
So, maybe that option to update skins in SDC should be totally disabled? Maybe? From what you're saying, I'm sure that's what I did. And, from what I'm gathering from what you're saying, I'll have to do the uninstall/reinstall routine all over again. But, this time I will not attempt to update skins through SDC, although, I'm not even sure what that means. <A HREF="https://www.winc
My "thumbs down" just did a 180. And, back. > Oh, Yrag...... Ever since we got this major update, SDC has been nothing but problems. I fix them, with your help, things are good for a while, then for reasons certainly unbeknownst to me, SDC get

dabe, I wouldn't worry too much about the "wolf" in your dog. If she has some in her, it's not much. Wolves are *much* bigger than she is. Karmagirl, I'm not "worried" about the wolf in her. And, it's definitely there. But, you are right about the content. She's considered to be "low content" wolfdog, in that her mother was 2nd generation pa
They are living beings, not toys to be used as entertainment. The operative phrase here is "living beings". If this was a perfect world, there would be no "pets" for selfish people to play with. However, this world is less than perfect (in case you haven't noticed), and there are these living things all over the place. Dogs and cats and birds
