My turn..... You may have seen two of mine. My wallpaper, Z Reflected, is a photo I took of Zinkadoodle when she was about 4 months old. She's a quiet, very skittish cat, who just adores me. But, anyone else approaches, and she runs like he11. She was hiding next to the dishwasher when I snapped that photo. I have another cat, Wall Nut Willie Botnitsky. She's an all black, feisty dumpster rescue. Tough little cat. I should make some kind of skin from a photo of her.

Thanks, DavidK. I downloaded Coolplayer, and I'm trying it. I never tried it before because I was happy with WinAmp. Anyway, I gotta say, the default skin for CoolPlayer is UGGGLLLY..... You know what they say..... "There's no accountin' for taste." Anyway, it does work well, easy on resources, though I do like Winamp better. I only use the Winamp default skin, but vary the color schemes. Great program. Anyone have the Pro version? Is it worth the money? I just downloaded Deep

Question about media players in WinCustomize Talk WinCustomize Forums

I used to be a big fan of WinAmp. Actually, I still am. But, I've been experimenting with QCD, and it seems quite good. I'm not really comfortable with WMP, which is a shame because it seems to be the only one that DX recognizes. Anyway, my question is about resources. Both WA and QCD seem to use up quite a bit of resources, whether minimized or not, and particularly when not minimized. But, I'm not sure which uses less, though I've tried to determine. MGiff, thanks for your kind thoughts. Yeah, I'm doing OK now. I just sent a photo of me to Koasati to post up on the SkinnerZ page. It's about two years old, but one of my favorites of me, though not really very high quality. I was kinda hanging onto my nice wooden cane. Gary, I'm using V. 1.30.256 Build 42 I get absolutely no library updates at all anymore. In place of any thumbnails is the default image - a rectangular gray somethin' or other. I've also had times when a single skin would show up 30-40 times in a single listing. Right now, instead of anything in my library list is a 6 digit number (don't remember). I really miss the old SDC alot. <BR

Well, it doesn't matter if I've set to classic or previews or thumbnails or whatever. This version has got me totally frustrated, and angry. I cannot view anything anymore. I reinstalled SDC, it worked for a few minutes, then blanked out again. AND AGAIN! I've emptied my temp folder. Nada. This beta release really sucks, and I'm looking forward to the update/patch/fix/new/whatever. Joe, I have nothing to add to this thread that others haven't already said, other than I am a person who is required to take a boatload of meds every day. One makes me really sick, but I save that one for weekends (it's a once a week drug), because these drugs have given me my life back, in spite of the side effects (dizziness, bone loss, etc.). I dunno about all the nuances and functions, but I've been using WinAmp for years, and find it the most uncomplicated for just simple playing of mp3's, of which I have ....er.... lots. Just load up a folder, and it will play the folder. Toggle shuffling, and it shuffles. I used to use it for saving mp3's to .wav format to burn to CD's, but now that DVD players can read mp3's, I don't bother anymore.
