Photography is one of my passions. I have a really nice image that I took of a honey bee on my desktop at work. But, I've always been so proprietory about my photos, I've been hesitant to upload them here. But, maybe I should upload this one, and see what you think, Fuzzy. I do agree. Most of the photos uploaded here are cr..... er, not great. p <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif"

"There was an error submitting your comments to Wincustomize" I've had this problem in the past, then it resolved and now I have it again. But, if I couldn't get it through SD Central, then I'd go to the WC browser. That's not working anymore, either. I'm not even getting the link anymore to clear my cookies and I dunno where to find it, if that is my problem. And, if that's the problem, and I'm certainly not the first person with this problem, is SD or WC working to resolve this? Is

It's also interesting how many vowels can be skipped Written Hebrew doesn't bother with vowels, except for learning and for children. The vowels are the little dots below the letters. I guess they figured that out a looooong time ago. Dabe (who do

to the admins: Just out of curiosity, how many wall submissions do you get per day, on average? What percentage are accepted? Just curious. If it's not an appropriate question, then I apologize in advance. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" ALT="Powered by SkinBr

why the hell would anyone buy a subscription if NOT ONE PERSON tries to convince me to buy the subscription.. Why shoud anyone have to "convince" you to buy a subscription. You've heen around here long enough. Time to act like a grownup. <img src="http://ima

uM0p ap!sdn, I took you up on your challenge. Kind of a start, but a bonsai'd cherry, it is. Click on my name to go to my profile, and it's posted there. BTW, how do you pronounce your name? <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" ALT="Powered by SkinBrowser

Go to Control Panel, Display, Settings Tab, Advanced, and change the DPI setting to Large. Then you'll be able to read your screen. That's the only way I can read my screen, a 17" monitor set at 1280x1024.

I know this thread took off on a crazy tangent (so many do ), but my question may whip it back to ...... er..... 3D. The question: Have any of you ever used the program Blender for 3D skinning? http://www.blender3d.org/ I've just downloaded it (again), and it's a doozy. But, it is a 3D renderer, and before I delve into its complexities, I would like to hear others' experiences. TIA

Morph, I have opened up the .bmp's in Photoshop to learn what sizes and resolutions other skinners will use. I find that opening up others skins is probably one of the best ways to learn those kinds of basics. But, that's where the easy part ends...... p.s. Just make sure you open up the goooood skinners' skins. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/bigsmile.gif" border=0 ALI

Sir Kongit, thanks for the offer to test it, though I'll send it to A-67. The reason I'm not sure about the fonts is that I have my display settings to 1280 on a 17" screen. Then, I have enlarged the fonts so I can read the dang thang. Maybe someday I'll be able to afford a new monitor. Maybe even a whole new computer. A-67, all I can say is DOH!! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/sm

I almost finished with a MAJOR reworking of my Prairie School Window Sysmetrix theme. I called the company four times to request a discussion about the copyright issue; I left messages; they never had the courtesy to call me back. So, that was that. A lesson learned. My revision is a horizontal format that fits nice and snug along gef's Azul at the top of my screen, though the colors aren't really m

I like Phoon's Chained Lightening and gef's Azul so much, they both work for me so well, that I just can't bring myself to change my desktop to anything else. Some of the other DX themes are fabulous. Phoon, your SSDD is beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. But, that left side menu thing, wherein I can open my browser to the right of it (most web pages only design for 600x800 anyway), enables me to get at stuff so easily, because the pop up/open menus stay contained within it. Of course, I swit

Sput, I think that's what I'm going to do - design a new image using a stained glass theme, as I've not seen this done before. Maybe I'll even perfect the "glassy" look, which I do not yet know how to do. I used to make stained glass windows many years ago, and I still have a small one hanging in my kitchen window. My completely original design, though I really don't think it's that good. Maybe, I base something off of that. I dunno. I just saw this window in that catalogue and tho

Styl Skinner, I uploaded my desktop showing my Sysmetrix and the original that I used. Just click on my name for my profile. You tell me. Is it copyright infringement, or not? If I was the artist, I'd say yes, unfortunately. The differences aren't enough to call it a different piece of art. Though, the Prairie Style was developed by Frank Lloyd Wright in the early 1900's, there is latitude for artists to develop it as individual artwork. Jafo, I started to send you a pri

I spent an enormous amount of time creating a Sysmetrix theme. I started with SS GOKU's SS-04, but came up with something so different that he told me that I would definitely not need his permission. I design the buttons from scratch, and the whole thing looks great. GOKU's reaction was "Wow". He even offered to create a rainy to match. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/bigsmile.gi

The only "object" I generally use is DX Weather. The rest is just eye candy, though I have to admit, they're fun to look at. What I DO love about DX are the desktop themes. Most notably, and usable for me are gef's themes and Phoon's themes. Gef's are generally more usable for me, because the menu stays put in the sidebar, whereas Phoon's pop up elsewhere on the window. With those themes configured for the programs I use most frequently, I almost never have to go searching through t

Absolutely, I'm aware of that, Jafo. And, I wouldn't think of uploading without said permissions. Because, as posessive as I am about my art, I'm sure others are equally posessive about theirs. I really hate rip-offs. ALOT <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" ALT=
